Add LED ZEPPELIN to the 2007 Reunion Mania sweepstakes!!

    Led Zeppelin to tour again

    By THOMAS WHITAKER
    Showbiz Reporter

LEGENDARY rockers Led Zeppelin are set to re-group after 22 years for a money-spinning stadium tour of America.

The three surviving members — singer Robert Plant, guitarist Jimmy Page and bassist John Paul Jones — plan to hit the road next summer.

The trio hope to pocket £6.4million for the shows.

Robert, 54, Jimmy, 58, and 56-year-old John Paul met two weeks ago at the offices of their management firm Trinifold.

They buried the hatchet over Page and Plant’s 1990s tour, which John Paul only learned about from a newspaper.

A band insider said last night: “If the right offer comes up they will do it.”

Trinifold added: “Jimmy is itching to do something, but there is nothing firm yet.”

Zeppelin split in 1980 after a booze binge killed drummer John Bonham.

His son Jason is set to play drums on the tour.

The band, famed for songs like Stairway to Heaven and Whole Lotta Love, are second only to the Beatles in worldwide album sales.

They still hold records for crowds at their 1970s concerts.

A music industry insider said: “They had so many hits that I am sure the reunion would be a major success.”

I saw this a couple of days ago, and while I'm doubtful that they'll reunite, I've still got my fingers crossed. If it happens I'm fuckin' there!

Hey, could they be cheating just like old ladies?

Robert's voice has turned into too much of a granny's, hasn't it?

I dunno, I've heard some boots of his recent tours and he didn't sound too bad. Certainly not Led Zeppelin I and II standards, but he couldn't do that at the end of Zeppelin. I'd say his range is about like it was in 1980...the tone is a bit different though. Compare that to Rod Stewart, who can't do a damn thing he used to.

Maybe I'm a bit unfair here.
What I heard on the 1998 tour, the "Nobody's fault but mine" re-orchestration in particular, was just awesome.
I wouldn't hesitate to buy tickets to see them back on stage; that said, I wouldn't fly across the Atlantic to do so like I will for Van Halen reunited.

Think I'm gonna to add this one to my quickly growing "I'll believe it when I see it and not a minute before" list for 2007. Shit, my pen's soon to run out of ink at this rate.

I hope Robert pulls the plug again.

As good as a Zeppelin (part) reformation would be, it would pale totally with the legend.

Remember Live Aid and the Atlantic 40th birthday?

They couldn`t pull it off then and they`re all nearly twenty years older now.

Some things should be left alone and a Led Zeppelin reunion is one of them.

he wasn't actually that bad tbh

                    but compared to freddie

The Page and Plant gigs of the 1990s were far better than either Live Aid (which seemed to be thrown together too quickly) and the Atlantic 1988 gig (where it seemed the band kinda froze a bit up there, and Page was in fumblefinger mode).

I dunno. Plant's voice just really wouldn't be up to it.

It would do HUGE business here, but I'd rather see another Zep dvd with some more in the way of 1977 live footage and maybe a full-length Knebworth put out than to see them reform.

I actually still dig Plants voice, even today........he knows "how" to best use what he has.........still a fan, though I agree that they should leave the legend alone........

                              I don't buy this.

For one thing, the report says that they hope to pocket £6.4 million for it, which is peanuts in real terms.

Pink Flyod were offered $132million to tour the states last year...
