This "box set" is nothing but the 2000 remasters of the Six Pack. Warner Japan just happenned to package it in one box for the Hell of it.

Definitely is NOT the box set that we all have been waiting for.

I believe you are correct

I really can't see why they wouldn't put a box set out.

When you think about the bands of a far smaller stature who release them, it just doesn't add up that the record label wouldn't push for a CVH one...

I don't think it is the record labels, See Edward Van Heineken

THIS is the stuff that should be released.

The studio stuff has already been repackaged several times, between the remasters and the two Best Of compilations.

It's that old live video and those old studio demos. Get 'em cleaned up and packaged, and they will sell. Do a pressing of 500,000, at $50 for, say, 2 dvds / 5 hrs of classic live CVH, and a hour long cd of maybe the Simmons demos and unreleased outtakes from the 6-pack.

One could pretty much say it's a given they'd sell out the pressing. Especially if the band is on tour this year.

I will pre order that when they do it.

DISC 1 Gene Simmons Demos / Early Live Material

DISC 2 - The Entire Warner Bros. 25-Song Demo

DISC 3 - Studio Outtakes from the Roth Days

DISC 4 - Studio Outtakes from the rest of their career...including the new songs with Dave from 2000 (you honestly couldn't expect 'em to ignore the other eras completely, though the rest of us would be happy without OU812 outtakes)

DISC 5 (DVD) - The entire 1981 Oakland show, professionally-shot, remastered with remixed 5.1 surround sound

I would be pretty fucking happy with a CD/DVD set like this...

$900 for this shit. WTF? Shit I could get a round trip flight to Japan and buy it there and make a vacation out of it for about the same price.

Something along those lines would be in-cred-i-ble!

Although I honestly think they SHOULD ignore the other eras completely, because those eras have been MORE than represented already.
