Where are the 4 or 5 songs from 2000? Ed just pisses me the fuck off. Every time they get the chance to do something that we could actually appreciate, they come up with shite. Everyone who gives a shit about this band has the 6 pack/remastered and has owned the 6 pack in some form or other since 1984.

Bunch of shit.

I've bought JUMP four times now.

Once in '84 when as an eight-year-old I bought the tape.

Once in the early 90s when I updated it to CD.

Once in '96 when I bought the BEST OF.

Once in '00 when I bought the remasters.

I am not buying it again.

4-5 discs worth of unreleased studio material, '77 demos, jams...let alone tons of unreleased live material and DVD footage.

And you want fans to shell out for this??

Fuck you, Edward.

No, seriously. Fuck you, Edward.

Rikk
01-31-2007, 11:24 PM
Well, spED is a piece of shit.

I don't care how well he plays guitar. He is one of my least-favorite rock 'n' roll stars in history.

At least Jimmy Page has been fairly respectful. USUALLY, when he's put out Led Zep product, it's been something the fans have been clamoring for...unreleased studio material, BBC stuff, live album and live DVD.

This is just the same old crap from a band that claims they have no unreleased material when the ever-dwindling fanbase has more than enough boot material to prove them wrong.

Seriously, it's like they are asking their fans to hate them.

POJO_Risin
01-31-2007, 11:28 PM

What a joke.

Reminds me of the weird cult in the Robin Williams flick "The World According To Garp."

I only need print one 'word':

"UUUUUUUUUULP!"

:D

I would buy a greatest hits 1978-1984 set but for one thing: It is a fucking cash grab. My favorite tunes are the ones that are NOT the Top-40 hits or covers. Out of that entire "track list" only about a third are songs I really like.

I mean, it would be the first time Warner Bros. woulda got my cash....as I never yet have bought any CVH on CD.

I am one of these guys who back in the early 80s was still getting heavy into cassette tape. Cause CD recorders were decades away. So I just made compilation tapes off my friend's cds. I did have a vinyl version of VH I back in the day.

I have not felt a need to buy their albums on cd, because I was occasionally getting VHS and cassette boots in the 90s, and I have over the past 5 or 6 years gotten lotsa live boot cds, and some DVDs thanks to some of you fine folkses here (yesss...they sent me the Preciousssss.....) and I much prefer live performance recordings over studio stuff.

Fuck Wolfie.

I do not give a rat's ass about him cause he was not an original member.

I will probably wind up buying a ticket to see them live because we will never see them live with Dave ever again.

Which brings me to another point:

You all are talking like this is some carved in stone deal.

I don't give a fuck even if they have signed the most iron-clad contract in the world.

Everybody here should be placing bets on A) Whether the tour even gets under way, or B) how many dates they get through before the tour implodes and a fistfight erupts onstage with Dave in one corner and the three sisters in the other.....and Dave kicks all their asses....all he has to do is A) kick Wolfie in the nads, B) lightly tap Chimpy's neck, and C) kick spEd in the hip and then grab that mangled lump of a tongue with some needle-nosed pliers and give it a good yank....

But I digress.

Will they even make it to the starting line?

Tune in next week for the next episode of "As The Bozo Nos...".

I have dibs on right after the RRHOF ceremony, Eddie tells us Dave is not in the band and he can't work with Dave.

what waz zat
02-01-2007, 01:26 AM
Even if they put 2-3 new songs on it on a greatest hits, people would still bitch (rightly so) that they are being made to spend $40 for 2-3 new songs along with a bunch of stuff they have heard before.

The only way they would look good is to put out an entire cd with something that has never released before.

What happened to "I've got 10 albums worth of material recorded" ???

Horseshit. He had 2 songs worth of material and he put them on a porn soundtrack. Both "tunes" consisted of noodling and cliche's. The dude is a compulsive liar. A lame duck.

If I had 10 albums of material I would be anxious to release some .

Um, where do people get that this is their FOURTH greatest hits package???

I only see this as the third one.

Best of Volume I (1996)
Best of Both Worlds (2004)

????

It sucks that they're just throwing out a new greatest hits CD out there --- but let's look at it this way:

Its a positive sign for us Dave and CVH fans -- there is NO Hagar shit on this compilation -- PURE CVH.

Which means that younger fans of music can get more exposure to CVH and not have to pollute themselves with Van Hagar at the same time.

It sucks for us diehards but is not a bad way to get CVH back into the spotlight ON ITS OWN without any Van Hagar crap attached to it.

The "good news" is there's no Hagar in it?

The younger fans should buy the original discs, not this K-Tel joke.

No "spotlight" needed, the Hall of Fame took care of that.

My how low we've lowered the bar now....

Typical Ed and Alex bullshit...just like I expected it to be.

Just the sisters' way of doing everything in their power to sabotage the reunion so that it's a total failure; while basically telling everyone who wanted this reunion so badly to fuck off.

Ed and Al would love nothing more than to see this bomb out so that they can lay the blame on Dave. You kind of get the feeling that Ed is haunted by the ghosts of Classic VH and knows that their fanbase will accept nothing less than a reunion with Dave. Seems like the sisters just want to make a quick buck; piss away yet another opportunity to do something special for their legacy and their fans; just so they can cater to their overblown egos and self opinions of themselves; even at the expense of pissing on the very legacy of Classic VH whichhappens to be the sole reason they even have anything remotely resembling a fanbase in the first place.

The Van Halen brothers are a fuckin disgrace. I hope Dave has the balls to tell them to fuck off at the RRHOF inductions after they perform and explain to the audience that he will not be a part of something that is designed to fuck the fans and piss on the legacy of something that used to mean alot to a lot of people.

WB wished to see DAVID LEE ROTH reunite with Van Halen.

Didn't have much to do with the bass player.
