How will Ed sing with only half a tongue? He will sound like a retard?

With BassPlayer out, will only Wolfboy Jack being doing the background vocal? I see big problem here.

Does this mean Ed wont be singing "How Many Say I"?

The same way he did in 2004.

Hopefully, since they will be playing all CVH material, the crowds will be singing the backup vocal parts to help cover up Ed and Wolf.

I'm sure they've figured that out, at least Dave would've been concerned over it.

Whatever they do, it seems they got that covered IMO.

Reconstructive surgery is standard practice after having mouth cancer....

EVH will be able to sing.....if he's half sober.........

Exactly.

If he stays on the wagon (which is anybody's guess), he'll be able to pull his weight for backing vocals.

We'll just have to wait and see...

Okay let's get one thing straight...

ROTH HAS NEVER BEEN CONCERNED WITH HOW THE SINGING SOUNDS!!!

He's only on stage to wear his assless chaps and do a high kick which in 2007 are low kicks.

And if Ed is too drunk then I'm sure someone will hit a button and a backing track will play......

The tongue is among the organs that, like the liver, will grow back.

Although I do get hard thinking of Dave on stage wearing his assless chaps.

Smashing news!

Unfortunately Dave doesn't swing your way, but you're certainly entitled to your fantasies.

Aren't you banned yet?

Has it ever occured to you guys that maybe they will hire female back up singers like Motley Crue had on the Dr Feelgood tour?

I have been thinking the same thing.

I think having female back up singers is a great idea. It would really fill out the tunes. RWTD would sound awesome with a couple of gorgeous back up singers.

The background vocals for this tour and Ed's singing are a fairly minor concern in my book.

If Ed's nailing his classic licks and Wolfie and uncle Al are nailing the backbeat and Dave's putting effort into his vocals, the crowd will take care of the choruses.

I don't know...I think a bunch of girls on stage singing would be kinda weird...just me...

Not a bunch Bob, just a couple of super fine chicks in skimpy attire. Who can sing of course.

I agree BB that would be strange. However, what else is there? Maybe the boys can pull it off?

Well, I've seen more than one Van Halen cover band with a bassist who can't hit the notes...a lot of them were actually pretty good and you don't miss it that much...

It's possible that they may just do without.

Van Halen, as a band with Dave, have to be considering everything we are. At least one would think. I'm sure when it is all said and done, the final product will sound good.

Well, if there's backing vocals, maybe they'll be done off stage - that happens on occasion...

Maybe they can get Wolfgang playing off stage as well...I seriously wouldn't mind seeing Ed on one side, Dave on the other and Al up on his riser in the back center.

That'd work for me.

Maybe they can pay Mike a roadies wage to sit out backstage and
sing into a microphone !

DLR has toured for years with spotty background vocals, some of his bands were good, some not so good. It'll be ok.

He's toured with spotty everything, including himself...

I'm not satisfied with "ok"...

You aren't satisfied with anything all you do is complain. Why don't you enjoy what we have for once instead of crying about how it isn't up to your standards.

I know that bro...you've got Marshalls. :D

Well to me the kid is the question mark here. I don't think Ed will have any trouble doing his own parts, which is more of what I was referring to, sorry for not being more clear. The one thing that bothers me about this whole thing is Mike's vocals being gone. I'll certainly give him props on his abilities in that area. Maybe they'll turn it up so loud we won't notice. :D

I hear ya...

And I believe having Dave back in the fold will challenge Edward to get off his ass and actually play some real guitar for a change...

The NAMM show stuff seems promising...

To me though, it's all the more reason to have Michael Anthony included...

With the RRHOF and everything, it just doesnt make sense...

As far as backing vocals go, I'm sure they could just hire a couple of singers to do the harmonies if all else fails.

Not saying I'd like to see that (I'd rather see Mike do it., but that ain't gonna happen) but if it stops it sounding awful...
