Street Date For New Van Halen Album Pushed Back

The release of Van Halen The Best of 1978-1984, the forthcoming album from Van Halen, has been pushed back.
The album was originally slated to hit record stores on March. 27. However, the band decided to record a new one titled "She's My Girl." Now the album will hit the street on April. 17.

Pushing back the album's release date also affected the release of the first single, "She's My Girl." That song was set to hit radio stations around the country on March. 12, however a spokeswoman at Warner Bros., the band's record label, was unable to confirm the new date when "She's My Girl" would be released.

The record's Japanese release has also been delayed until approximately May. 15, according to Billboard.com. The website also reports that some of the already-scheduled dates on the band's North American tour may have to be shifted around. There's no solid word yet on which dates, if any, will be affected.

Stay tuned to JAMTV for the latest Van Halen news. (Ari Bendersky)

This had BETTER be bullshit. Either record a fucking album, or don't bother.

I didn't buy the last redundant U2 greatest hits album and I'm not buying this one for one fucking song either.

I hope this is true.

I would also prefer an LP but if one song is the case, then i guess it is a *babystep* in the right direction.

Little girl, it's a great big world but there's
only one of me
You can't touch 'cause I cost too much but
Tonight I'm gonna rock you
Tonight I'm gonna rock you
Tonight!
You're sweet but you're just four feet
And you still got your baby teeth
You're too young and I'm too well hung
Tonight I'm gonna rock you
Tonight I'm gonna rock you
Tonight!
You're hot, you take all we got, not a dry
seat in the house
Next day, we'll be on our way
Tonight I'm gonna rock you
Tonight!
Chorus:
Little girl, it's a great big world, but there's
only one of me

My sources also reveal that Van Halen is planning on playing the Diver Down album in its entirety on selected dates this upcoming summer.

I heard this too.

I can't wait to hear Wolfie doing those back-ups for DANCING IN THE STREET.

Who the hell cares if the 3rd straight "hits" package is ever released.

Yeah, but SHE'S MY BABY is really happening.

My source told me it's over six minutes long, with a very-long guitar solo. It will be the first Van Halen song ever released with Wolfie playing bass.

I'm not sure what the lyrics are about, but Dave claimed they were actually taken from some song he recorded for the unreleased second DLR BAND album. It's actually not a love song. The lyrics have more of a swing vibe while the music is described as being a lot like CUSTARD PIE from Zep's PHYSICAL GRAFFITI.

Members: 22,747

I think that the remaining 22,746 members might be interested in the fact that they are releasing a new song!

Wrong!

Its more like Coconut Grove meets I'll Wait.

The song is about 4 minutes long and features a pretty cool drum solo in the middle.

This song was considered for the Spider-Man 3 movie soundtrack but may appear in a Shampoo commercial instead.

Get your facts straight.

Get your facts straight.

Once again, you don't know what you're talking about.

The shampoo version is only going to be an instrumental. And the song may still be used in the next Alan Thicke movie.

Also, the drum solo in the middle was recently replaced with the three-minute guitar solo.

Shows how little you know.

Its not going to be an Alan Thicke movie.

Alan's role has been recast and will probably feature Tom Arnold.

On a side note Tom Arnold was originally supposed to be cast in DLR's never made movie. He was supposed to play a guy who was married to some big fat woman at one time.

Does it come with a live b-side??

eddie007
02-18-2007, 12:54 AM
..yeah here is the REAL scoop on the B-side

It's a Solo by Wolfie wanking off in the bathroom for 3 minutes and they run the sound thru an MXR flanger.

...it will kinda sound like the Cradle Will Rock but, with a more rythmic beat to it.
