I think its just because of all the crap that has gone down in the last 10-11 years.

Thanks =V V= !

A prospective Van Halen tour with original frontman David Lee Roth has derailed. Sources tell Billboard.com the decision to postpone the outing indefinitely was not due to any internal strife among band members. Insiders close to the situation say a tour is still in the works and will happen, though when is anybody's guess.

The tour, negotiations for which were first tipped here on Jan. 24, will feature Roth, Eddie and Alex Van Halen, and Eddie Van Halen's teenage son Wolfgang on bass. A spokesperson for the Van Halen brothers confirmed the tour in a Feb. 3 press release.

Indeed, wheels were in motion for a 40-date, Live Nation-produced amphitheatre tour to be announced Feb. 20, including venues and on-sale dates.

The Van Halen camp has yet to make any official announcement about the postponement or the reasons behind it.

I know the official VH site has a reputation of being really slow but with everything going on don't you think they would have pulled down the press release and said the tour is off? Until the official site says it's not happening, I'm not going to think it's off.

Valid point.

Its one thing for the official site to have pictures and news that are a few years old but a whole nother thing to still have a press release up for a tour that's supposedly NOT going to happen.

It will be with Michael Anthony on bass and Wolfgang will spell dad on guitar playing along side him most of the night, on a limited number of venues....

Look for things to develop around September-October...

You heard it here first.;)

Billboard is a industry paper but much like the usual DJ that claim knowledge they aren't on the inside to be privy of the info that happening.I just won't believe anything until it on AP wires or the Drudge Report he reported the story first before anyone else when this was a go originally.

There are two possible reasons for the delay:

1)Dave and the Van Halens are still negotiating terms.
2)They want to make some type of big announcement at the upcoming induction ceremony.

In the end, what they are doing (despite the fact it's pissing off the fans) is nothing short of billiant,as it is magnifying the media attention.

I don't think Ed is in fighting shape for this tour, period. DLR is a consumate professional and I truly believe he will not step on to a tour bus until Ed has his shit together both Mentally and physically. I am sure The Diamond One did his homework and kept close tabs on the Bore Tour of 2004 and refuses to go on tour with Ed sloshed out of his mind and playing like shit. It is obvious from the recent interview, DLR is doing everything he can to keep Ed's problems out of the limelight.

I could picture that. That would be better than no Mike Anthony at all, and his son is probably the only guy Eddie would let play rhythm. Yup that's it! That's why they need the time - so Wolfie can pratice some rhythm! Yeah! Gotta think positive. Turn him down in the mix, Ed doesn't have to kick out his son, the original 4 are there.

To me, VH has always been a Summertime band. It would be a shame if they can't get this tour off the ground during the Summer months.

yeah true...i'd love to see them at an ampitheater during a certain hot summer month...plus the seats are always better in ampitheaters imo unless you get lucky and get super good seats at an arena

I don't think it's "over" either, but any kind of BS at this point is enough to turn off the majority of the (rapidly shrinking) fanbase........

So why the fuck did they announce a reunion then?It should have only been announced when they were ready to roll enough of this Fuckin drama already either do it or don't do it. Enough of this bullshit already:mad:

They just need time to give Wolfgang voice lessons - so he can sort of sound like Mike. Like when they tried to make Cherone sound like Hagar.

I could not believe it when I heard 3, Cherone sounded exactly like Hagar only worse. Can that be possible? they both sing really flat IMO, major piching problems.

God that was a bad day when I heard that album, I remember my friends laughing and rolling on the floor when they heard Ballot or the Bullet, for fucks sake maybe the worst Van Halen song ever and lets not talk about How many say I. That song shows even then that Ed had such an opinion of himself, to write that crap and pass it off as genuine, souless. WHERE WAS THE FUCKING PRODUCER?

Landee and Templeman were SO important for this band, not discounting Dave of course.

I really think the tour is just on hold. I think with all the negativity about Mike, they are rethinking it. Or, all the negativity on the new Best of CD, that they might have decieded to put new stuff on it. two or three songs, maybe from 2000. David said he has copies of the songs they did, so maybe they are recording them for the cd, which would be awesome. I think one of these two things happened, and all the press jumped on it and said its over. they would have pulled the announcement off of the official site right away if it was cancelled. I can always hope, cant I? Whatever it is, I do only think it is on hold. the VH boys are in too far to turn back now. They know it would be over if they do!

Yup.

This is it. If it doesn't happen this year, it will NEVER happen.
