Also, I think Ed is in rehab to get help, but also it happened to be the perfect time to tuck away, while Hammy, Mike and the whole HOF thing was going on. I guess he was getting some negative feedback on putting his kid on the road as well. I think Ed is there for different reasons than drying up. But while he's there, he might as well dry up.
Hey, do you suppose he could bring his guitar in there? No amp or anything. Just his guitar and write a few new tunes?

I heard that he wasn't allowed to take his guitar in, though that hasn't been verified. On one hand, I could see reasons why not, as you could hang yourself with a guitar string if you were suicidal enough.
On the other hand, for a musician such as Ed, having a guitar with him might provide a healthy channel for whatever he's going through. Hell, I'd set him up with a guitar, an amp, and a recorder so he could put it on tape. Might get some riffs out of this whole thing worthy of a Van HALEN album.Eat Us And Smile
