According to Hits Daily Double, HELLYEAH's self-titled debut album has sold around 44,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut in the Top 10 of The Billboard 200 chart. However, it should be noted that exact sales numbers and chart positions will not be available until tomorrow morning (Wednesday, April 18).

For those of you who do not know who Hellyeah is, the band is comprised of Vinnie Paul Abbott (former Pantera/Damageplan drummer) and other dudes.

Is it any good or just Pantera lite?

I wasn't ever a fan of Pantera much anyway, so it didn't particularly interest me from jump street...having such a gay band name didn't help to ignite my interest any, either...

Who else is in it?

Ya know, I have yet to even listen.... I dig Vinnie Paul's playing, but I was more into Dime (being a guitarist), and without Dime around, I am less likely to be interested in another shouter band.

However, here is all the latest dirt, courtesy of Blabbermouth:

HELLYEAH, the new band featuring former PANTERA/DAMAGEPLAN drummer Vinnie Paul Abbott alongside members of MUDVAYNE and NOTHINGFACE, has parted ways with bassist Jerry Montano (NOTHINGFACE, DANZIG). His replacement will be announced shortly.

In other news, HELLYEAH will launch the "Fire It Up" tour on May 20 in Baltimore before heading over to Australia and making its way to England for an appearance at this year's Download festival.

"Fire It Up" tour dates:

May 20 - Baltimore, MD @ Rams Head Live
May 22 - Louisville, KY @ Expo 5
May 23 - Peoria, IL @ East Peoria Convention Center
May 25 - Cleveland, OH @ House of Blues
May 26 - Grand Rapids, MI @ Orbit Room
May 27 - Madison, WI @ Barrymore Theater
May 29 - Denver, CO @ Fillmore Auditorium
May 30 - Omaha, NE @ Sokel Auditorium
Jun. 01 - Wichita, KS @ Cotillion
Jun. 02 - Tulsa, OK @ Cains Ballroom
Jun. 03 - Lubbock, TX @ Southbeach
Jun. 05 - Corpus Christi, TX @ Pavilion

All tickets go on sale this Saturday, April 21 (except Cleveland, which goes on sale on Friday, April 20).

HELLYEAH will take part in this summer's Family Values Tour. The official announcement was made March 26 via VirtualKorn.MTV.com. Also taking part in the tour are EVANESCENCE, ATREYU, TRIVIUM and FLYLEAF, alongside headliners KORN.

HELLYEAH's self-titled debut album has sold just under 45,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at No. 9 on The Billboard 200 chart.

A three-minute clip featuring behind-the-scenes footage from the making of HELLYEAH's "You Wouldn't Know" video has been posted at YouTube. The clip was shot on February 25, 2007 with director Nathan Cox in the parking lot of the Dallas, Texas stripclub owned by Vinnie Paul Abbott.

Their singer is the old singer of Mudvayne. I've heard one tune. I actually liked it, but I just can't get past that stupid fucking name.

Funny that Jerry Montana left.... he was promoting the Hell out of the new band over at the Danzig board just a week or two ago. Seemed like he was excited about the project.

This record is really cool.

It's heavy, but it doesn't sound much like Pantera to me, which I 'm glad of because they'd never recapture that without Dime.

Less screaming, more clean vocals and more short punchy riffs.

It's kept the balance of heavy and groove like Pantera though.

Turns out he was fired. In a drunken fit at Vinnie and Dime's club, he threatened to come back with a gun and shoot people. It was on Blabbermouth a couple days back.
