I deeply appreciate that he designed Stratocaster.

Fender amps are grate as much as their guitars. they influenced Jim Marshall. he copied the Fender amps diagram and arranged it a bit. and he finally created the sound of rock music.
so, if you use Marshall, you must thank Leo.

Thanks. I found it (the 1-piece ash body) in a pawnshop, replaced the neck with a Warmoth one with a Pau Ferro fretboard, put on a Fender American Vintage bridge, some Dimarzio virtual vintage pickups, locking tuners...it kicks ass.

It's amazing how much Fender got right in those early designs. Then there was the Jazzmaster and jaguar but the Strat and Telecaster are what people really fell in love with.

Leo Fender listened to real musicians. The contour body of the Strat was the idea of a country play by the name of Bill Carson. The tremelo on the Strat was designed by a Hawaiian slide guitar player named Freddie Traveres. Freddy played the slide opening to the Looney Toon cartoons.

How do I know this stuff? I have sevral books on Fender. LOL!
No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!

I love how he didn't even play guitar, yet designed one of the most popular models ever.

That might have been the secret of his success. His design was inspired by nothing more than common sense. I know that if I were to design my dream guitar, it wouldn´t be something your average beginner could pick up and feel comfertable with.

Me neither, but their loss was my gain . I sold every other piece of hardware on it...sold the neck to a friend of mine...
