View Full Version : Do you think this will be Van Halen's final tour?

I think the Van Halen/Sammy Hagar reunion tour could possibly be VH's final tour after all these years since it's all about Eddie's return to the spotlight after a long absence, which is great, the new greatest hits complilation is a record company gimmick to introduce this legendary rock band to a new generation of fans, I have to admit I'm not expecting another album & another tour after this one since Eddie Van Halen isn't getting any younger but it's going to be great listening to the new tracks, I know I would have liked to have seen Eddie & Dave onstage one more time speaking as an old VH/DLR era fan but I don't think it's ever going to happen again after the 96 debacle!!!

Who really gives a shit unless Roth is onboard?

If the best idea Ed could think of to relaunch his career after a half-decade of hibernation was a Sam Halen reunion, he'd have been better off staying at home.

Makes me think all the bullshit about Ed and Al having three albums worth of material ready to go is just that: more lies from the sisters.

Best of Vol 2, unless it's got some new Roth material or previously unreleased Roth tracks, is irrelevant.

And even if this turns out to be Eddie's last round of concert appearances, I won't regret not going to see them just to see Eddie live one last time.

Ain't giving that guy one red cent unless Dave's with him. The Hagar contingent is a vocal minority, but truth is there are far more who would have paid to see Eddie and Dave that are going to sit this tour out then there are Waborita maniacs who'll pay to see Van Hagar.

The majority of people who go to see Van HAgar are the same people who go to see Neil Diamond, Celine Dion, and Bette Midler. Oops I forgot Spammy doubles as Bette Midler. Well you get my point.

When did Van Halen change their name to Roth or Hagar for all their tours because last time I checked this legendary rock band is, has & always will be about Eddie Roth & Roll? I agree with you tha tthe 1984 VH tour was the last great rock & roll tour of its kind by any rock band celebrating sex, drugs & rock & roll in maximum overdrive without any apologies.

Mike is gonna split after this one. He's been dreaming of doing a G3 type thing forever. He's gonna grab Randy Jackson and the Culture Club queer and call it "Oreo" or "Dark Grey" or some shit.

All about Eddie? If that's what you think then what the fuck are ya doing at a DLR site sizzlechest? Why don't you go follow the rest of the sheep, or even better yet go hang out with all the other fat balding, ballad loving 30-something year old single guys still living with their mothers at www.eddievanhalen.com

You're probably one of those losers who's beer cup I'd piss in when you weren't looking and you'd probably gulp it down oblivious to the fact that your beer was recycled with a goofy toothless grin. You wouldn't be able to tell the difference real and piss beer just like you don't know the difference between real Van HALEN and imitation Van Halen (aka: Van HAGAR)

They way they are adding tour dates, I am almost inclined to join the opinion of the person above who stated they think Van Hagar will not finish this tour. They are older now, out of shape, haven't toured for ages, haven't been together for quite some time, and now think they can play a different town damn near every night? It is not about forming a lasting band. It is about making as much quick cash as you can.

Sad to say buy yeah I do. I don't think Ed will be able to compose himself long enough to get through another tour and I hate to say it but I wonder if he will be able to get through this one. Here's my thinking (Don't kill me) While I do like the Sammy era, The best VH era EVER was the Dave era and if VH wants to retire the only way to put the VH legacy to rest is by going back to their roots which is Eddie, Alex, Mike and DAVE!

Van Halen is Roth, Ed, Al and Mike. Peri-fuckin'-od.

What's going out on the road this summer is a sham, and is Van Halen in name only.

When Roth returns to the fold, then you'll have a Van Halen reunion.

Verily it is written that the sons of Jan shall not enter into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame unless they are led by David the Chosen One. For the descendant of Abraham's hand maiden Hagar hath turned them from the righteous path into the ways of cheesiness and top 40 commercialism, which is the road to Hell :(

Neil Diamond Dave? LMAO. Thats actually not bad. ;)

But attacking the mans look is something reserved for the new-b's around here, that come in from the links. You've been here long enough to know that us Roth will take Roth anyways he presents himself. Its unconditional man. He could shave his head and wear a dress. Im serious. His career will definatly flush itself down the drain, but us hardcore fans will love him regardless. And yet, that seems to be your main concern here. No matter what you say to deter us. No matter how many balding jokes. Failing career and playing nightclub jabs, we Roth fans will always have that undying need to hear the man speak, sing or play a fucking juice harp. You dont have that. You have nothing but Sammy to cheer for. And when you're done counting on one hand, what it is that you do like about that fat cheese head with zero charisma- you are upset, because you wish you had someone like Dave to idolize. You dislike what confuses you the most. Its the kid in class with no friends syndrome. Well, every once in awhile you jump into the mix to throw your two cents at us, hoping you've stirred the pot enough for us to notice you. Well, the jig as it were is up. So now that you've shown your disdain for the man we pay a great deal of respect for, you can leave. Go back to the links. It's rainbows and bliss over there. That site is reserved for the happy go-lucky Van Hagar fans who have known nothing but Sammy or just walk through life with blinders on and pretend Dave doesn't exsist or just isn't in the same "league" as Sammy. I feel very sorry for anyone who thinks that way. You have no idea what you are missing. Throw on DLR Band CD. Thats what Van Halen could've sounded like on their last album. Instead you got VH3. There is a definate side to take man. If you are over there- peace and granola MOFO. But you have no idea what your not letting into your ears and soul.
