Easily Iron Maiden.

If it had been "British steel" I would have had to think about it.

I like both albums but when compared directly, I have to go with Number of the Beast..

Preist by a hair.

:rockit2: Ouch! Having to choose between these 2 monsters is impossible!
I guess in a track-for-track comparison, I would have to take Maiden.

No-brainer here...Maiden by a fucking longshot!

Personally I think we should have a Jugulator vs. X-Factor showdown for suckiest album, but I doubt enough people own either one!!

HAHAHAHA!

Absolutely. I have always liked Maiden more than Priest.... although the theatrical vocals of Bruce can get annoying after extended play.

Both albums are arguably the best from each band..

Must have been a good year for metal, that year !

I was having trouble deciding but I like the concept
of judgement, by what you play more..

I would listen to Screaming more than Number...

On the "Jam Along with the CD" factor, Screaming
wins out again..

Having said all that, Number of the Beast is
fookin Epic Man !!! I remember the single hitting
number one in Oz and being so fucking proud to
see a Heavy Metal video being played for weeks
as *the* "Number One" single...

Love Priest, but this is an easy victory for Maiden...

I love those songs too, and the title track.

But picking them over Invaders, The Prisoner, Run to The Hills, Children of the Grave, Number of the Beast and Hallowed Be thy Name?

That's a faulty set of scales you;ve got there Shaun...

I would not fault any decision in this poll...it is tough.

Two killer albums...

The Number of the Beast was just a stronger record, song vs. song, than Screaming for Vengeance was. Not taking away anything from Vengeance, because you get two timeless classics out of it...Electric Eye and You've Got Another Thing Comin...but Maiden gave ya The Number of the Beast, Run to the Hills and Hallowed Be Thy Name - and, comparatively speaking, Maiden was a lot hotter at that point than Priest was when it came to the other songs...Maiden still very fresh, Priest was still evolving into the 80's from the 70's...

All in all, both great albums - Maiden sticks it just a bit harder though.

I vote Priest by a blonde kunt hair.

As for jamming, I began playing along with the Priest album first, then a couple of years down the road I began to play Maiden.

These days, for keeping chops up, I will play Number Of The Beast all the way through. Good practice.

But Priest had some kickass songs.....even though there was some filler, like "Fever", and "Pleasure & Pain".

The ultimate would have been to see the tour where Maiden was touring to support NOTB, and opened for Priest on the SFV Tour.

Those lot of you who saw that tour are lucky muffukkers.
:D

I really am a lucky rascal, cuz I saw that AND I saw Maiden (while promoting Killers) open for Priest in '81. My first show and it kicked all kinds of ass!

You really think that I wrote that so I could converse with you? Honest to fuck....

It's like the chick at a bar who gets all bent out of shape that you're hitting on her if you ask "is this barstool taken?"...Get over yourself.

It was a joke.

"Screaming" actually has one more filler type track than "Number" does, but I listen to "Screaming" a lot more........

Hellion/Electric Eye was the first metal tune I ever really got into, via my dads "Metal Works" compilation.

Its something of a special reason for picking it for buying those faulty scales.
