First, check out this auction and description...

Click Here! (http://cgi.ebay.com/Lefty-Warmoth-Fender-Stratocaster-62-Reissue_W0QQitemZ300118583454QQihZ020QQcategoryZ47 069QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)

Read any of it? I didn't think so...

So, after looking through his rediculous description I still didn't know much about this guitar so I sent a message...

Hey, I'm not trying to give you a hard time, but after reading your super long description, I still don't know if the body is made in Japan. I assume it is. And if I may say so, I believe your super long descriptions hurt your chances at getting bids. Most people (including myself) have no time for such nonsense. Very nice guitar, by the way. The only reason I'm probably not going to bid is because I have spent way too much on guitars and ebay lately. I (at least) have to sell some stuff first.

Thanks,

Greg

To which he replied:

Hello,

Actually, most people approve of my long descriptions...it leaves little room for the need to answer repeated questions, and BTW, my guitars always sell. Since you don't like my auctions, and don't wish to be tempted by my guitars, I'll just go ahead and block your ID so you don't bid on one accidentally either now or in the future. Thanks for your inquiry !

To which I replied:

I'm a bit smarter than that. I have multiple accounts, so if i wanted it, i'd get it. But, I wasn't being nasty or anything. Simply pointing out an observation and asking a question. I can tell other people have obviously pissed you off.

Thanks anyway and have a good day,

Greg

I've yet to get a reply, but i'll post it if I get one...:D

K, I clicked on the link just cos you're a pal. I also have nothing but positive feedback on eBay myself, both as a buyer and a seller. With all of that being said, what a friggin' moron. Seriously and excluding the dumb exchange he had with you... WHO would SERIOUSLY want to read or look at his "War And Peace" version of a description? Not to mention all of the queer colors he used?

I'm with you my friend, that person is a dipshit. However and thankfully, it made for an entertaining post. :)

On top of that, he didn't fully describe the guitar...

Is he trying to pull the wool over some eyes ??

You should see his negative feedback...

OK, you talked me into it. I'll post it...;)

That does look cool as shit, and I prefer 1 3/4" nut width necks, but what a moron that guy is.

ELVIS

Yeah, and did you see anywhere in that description where the body was made ??

ELVIS

I like this line:

"I would prefer not to take paypal on this auction, as the fees are killer...but if you absolutely have to, I will grudgingly accept your money!"

I just read the whole thing again...

He's trying to make the reader think that it's an American Vintage Reissue, even going so far as to say that the pickups might have been original to that guitar, but he just can't remember for certain...

Zero bids so far...

I doubt seriously that will sell. I bet it's all Warmoth parts. Not that Warmoth is bad, I love Warmoth, but he's trying to slide something past everyone with that fucking novel he wrote. What a fuck-stick. Nice feedback. Where theres smoke, there's fire. I wouldn't buy anything from that guy

Although the body was never intentionally reliced, it shows the natural wear one would expect from a guitar that has been gently played for several years.

I know I cannot sound as stupid as this idiot, but what the fuck is "intentionally reliced"???

Oh I see...as in "finished to look like a relic" (as Fender did).

Looks like "re-liced".

:D

As for the description, he does say it WAS a 1999 Fender 1962 Reissue.

However, notice he has no photos of the neck plate on the back.

Even if there WERE a serial number on it, that does not prove the body itself is genuine.

In all actuality, look closely at the contour. Actual Fender Strats from 1962

Here...this is a photo I found of the neckplate of a genuine Fender 1962 Reissue made in 1999:

http://blogs.warwick.ac.uk/images/dthompson/2006/07/09/picture_067.jpg?maxWidth=800&maxHeight=600

Sure he might have actually been ill or whatever, but I still would not shell out the kind of bread he wants for that thing.

He admits that he has replaced EVERYTHING, but he does not remember if they are the original pickups, and so on and so forth.

Fuck it.

What is the fucking point of shelling out that kind of cash for a guitar made of replacement parts?

Fucking loser.

Here are some photos of a REAL Fender 1962 reissue made in 1999.

In fact he makes it a point not to show the back of the body. You know why?

Granted I have not seen thousands of vintage strats in my life, but the one thing I do know is they are seriously contoured.

That body looks like a Warmouth or a Boogie Body or some other replacement body to me. It is not as contoured as a REAL Fender body is. I could be wrong, but if it WERE real, he would be showing some edge on and back photos.

Just look at the body of the one in the link above.

It is quite obvious.

Yeah Soft69, I picked it apart visually, I just didn't feel like posting it...

I think the body contours are consistant with a Japanese Reissue...

Set aside from the seller, it is a beautiful guitar. Then again, most gold hardware with snow white bodies make a beutiful guitar.

Cool..thanks for posting the pic Don;

Ok I rest my case. No serial on the back plate. It is nothing but a buncha put together spare parts. No authentic Fender stuff at all.

http://i17.tinypic.com/62iyh6g.jpg

Yeah it looks nice, but I sure would not even call it a "Fender" of any kind unless it had at least ONE genuine part on it.
