Nobody cares about Ed Van Halen anymore. This is all about selling high margin, high markup signature gear to baby boomer collectors who have more money than sense.

Lower the price and sell on volume? Won't happen because nobody cares about Ed Van Halen anymore. Who's going to buy it? Nope, jack it and sell it to a orthopedic surgeon who grew up on Van Halen and thinks he can get Eddie's tone out of a magic box.

Kind of pathetic when you think about it. Not as bad as going on a geriatric cruise with Sammy and Bass Player but getting there.

I think he wants to be like Les Paul. At this point you think more of a guitar than you do a person when you hear "Les Paul." The problem is Eddie's jumped the ship on too many manufacturers. There's only been one Les Paul, a Gibson. There's already been a Music Man Van Halen, Peavey, Charvel and now Fender. It's too much of a mess. He's screwed that up just like the band.

Actually Les Paul jumped ship and went to Fender for a brief period because the Les Paul was too heavy that's why you see 60's SG's called Les Pauls because Gibson was trying to get him back...

the funny part is now Ed brands all his gear as EVH and uses fender as a designer , distributer..He keeps all the trademarkas and can move them to any company he wants...it's a pretty smart move..the names Wolfgang, EVH, 5150 can all be manufactured under any company that wants too by contract I would bet....you don't see the name Fender anywhere on the new amp or guitar...

look for "FirstAct" ( the walmart musical instrument brand) to do Ed guitars down the road!

as sad as it is he probobly should have did this kind of branding years ago, and let the Spammy negotiate for him and help set up his biz...
