I love all of the Beatles. But I have to confess that Ringo is my favorite. Seeing him at Radio City Music Hall in 2006 totally made me fall in love. The new Paul album is great though...I'm happy it's getting great reviews, but I really felt that his previous album, Chaos and Creation in the Backyard, was better. It was softer music (I guess his age is beginning to show through in his songwriting) but it was pretty classy stuff. Nevertheless, it's good to know there's still talent out there.

us away all over again...

That being said, its awesome to hear one of only two Beatles

In a live situation, I think Wings blow the doors off The Beatles live, though The Beatles were very good at times...

Wings live could blew away a good number of of the popular bands bands at that time, I think anyway...

Anyway, Paul ROCKS!

I can't believe this turned up on YouTube. Most people have no idea this even exists.......

It's not an actual video, but the recording is real. It's Lennon & McCartney from 1974, and they STILL can't fucking get "Stand By Me" right, for some reason.

They had tried to record the song during the chaotic Let It Be sessions but it didn't make the cut. And this version is even more uhhhhh....... shall we say "improvisational" than that one was...

Disregard the first track Dance Tonight and the rest of the album, especially with the bonus tracks, is easily Paul's best work since, oh I don't know, Back To The Egg or McCartney II...

Dance Tonight isn't a terrible song but the mood of the album is totally different than that song might suggest...

For those of you who are big fans but are cautious to buy a Paul McCartney album due to the fear that it might suck, trust me and buy this CD...

Paul was actually playing the drums, believe it or not.

Obviously, this wasn't a formal recording session, or at least it didn't end up as one. Stevie Wonder was playing the keyboards, and Harry Nilsson was in there somewhere as well.

This was from a period that Lennon would call his "lost weekend" when he was temporarily separated from Yoko and partying way too much in LA. Somewhere in the middle of all that madness, John & Paul renewed their friendship, but there wasn't any talk of putting the Beatles back together.

Probably just as well, if it had sounded like that.

Any of you guys pick up the LOVE soundtrack? Some of the remixes are unbelievable.
George Martin's son mixed the solo from Taxman into Drive My Car.
They isolated elements of different songs, sometimes changed keys, and mixed it into other songs.
Sounds absolutely incredible and I highly recommend it.
The new McCartney one's on my list. Thanks for the clips.
