Why has DLR never released a live CD?

With only 6 studio CDs in the last 20 years you'd think Dave would've released a live CD.
He had to of recorded some or all of the shows on the Sam and Dave tour!
Any thoughts as to why you think he hasn't wanted to release an official live recording?

I agree. A live CD would be excellent. Everybody on this site would run to go get it.

Think about how cool it would be to crank a live Dave CD!
I'd close my eyes and pretend I was there everynight. Rock On!!

That would be mean! He should make it a combo of his solo and vh stuff. This way we could get our double dose.

                  Yes definitely!
Although Ed, Mike and Al would make some $$ from the release just like Dave did when VH released the subpar "Right Here, Right Now" live CD in 1993.

I think about this all the time. Have no clue why he hasnt had an official live release, very strange IMO. Maybe he's just not big on live records.

Ed, Al and Mike would all have to agree with the CD first. Then talk money, then decide when to release it. Too much to agree on.

With his album sales as of late, Dave probably realizes there's no point to releasing a Roth live solo record.

As to why a classic Van Halen live solo album, or some type of classic box set (chock full of live cuts, studio demos, in concert footage on DVD) hasn't been put out, who knows? Certainly money to be made.

Speculating that there is no sole ownership of that type of material, unlike the previously released studio recordings. As to who has control over live footage and audio, or of all parties need to come to a consensus before any of it can be released, etc., who knows?

Ozzy released Speak of the Devil as a solo artist but it was all Sabbath tunes and I believe he was sued. I don't remember the outcome. VH released Live Without a Net and RHRN which both contained Dave era tunes albeit only a couple. So I think Dave could do it. But then again what do I know? All I know is that Will Hung sold more copies that Diamond Dave. He sold approx 43,000 copies DD only sold around 12,000. How fuckin pathetic is that? She Bangs! She Bangs!
