Have never seen (or even heard about) any other video footage from Donnington 1984 other than the proshot HFT footage, myself.

I have a boot shot from distance! Hard to see the stage but it is visible, just got it this year! Shot from a fan with camcorder!!

How does it compare to, say, the Montreal 1984 boot...are the band as visible in the Donnington one as they are in the Montreal one?

Yes, but as jero said, HFT seems to be the only pro-shot song.

I seem to recall hearing of more of the show being recorded, but I have no proof of that. IMO, that version of HFT is pretty sloppy anyway. Cool to see and all, but certainly not what CVH was all about.

Does not compare! The 1984 was an excellent boot! This is for the true collector only!!

The band are very distant! Not even close to the Montreal show!!

Sounds like a rough watch...even for a hardcore boot collector, because none of the shots in Montreal were close-ups. And the band were playing a daytime show during Donnington, without their own stage lighting rig...unlike Montreal where when the camera focuses out at least it's so you can see the entire stage set.

Ed's playing is for crap on that night. He cant even carry the song. So he puts fills in the whole thing. Sad.

Sure enough. Boot quality is always a gamble. 'Specially with some of the older bands/concerts.
