Well, to me, it means "The band Van Halen, in name Edward Van Halen, Michael Anthony and Alex Van Halen, fronting by Dave only."

But I'm sure some people are more than happy to make exceptions to what the band "Van Halen" translates into.

Now I get it: When the torch was first put up, VH was doing nothing. So it was put up for a reunion, of course a Dave-only reunion, right?

I was thinking it was for when Dave comes back to the band and if anyone else was gone (like Mike) it would still be lit, because it was a Dave-only torch.

I'm glad you cleared this up because I'm betting many here are thinking like I was.
