    A serious question

Now, I'm wondering if Michael Anthony is going to get some cash from this tour. Well, you have to wonder because of royalty issues.

Especially if they tape the show and distribute a DVD (which I'm SURE will happen).

    Whatcha thank?

    No.

Mike sold off all his rights to the VH song catalog to the Van Halens in order to participate in the 2004 Van Fagar tour.

Mike doesn't make a coin off the old records or songs anymore.

That was a dumb ass move on Mikes part. With the new hype, radio stations will be playin the hell out of the classic catalog and he won't get a dime. Meanwhile the only time Fagar era tunes will be heard is when THE Other half are playing the local club circuit. Not much in the form of royalties there. Oh well, he still has hot sauce sales.

                  I don't know about that...

But Michael selling his rights to Edward shows how much he wanted to be part of the 2004 reunion, as he thought it would be the last thing Van Halen did as a band...

I read in Paul Dianno's book that he sold off his Iron Maiden rights for £50.000.

Mike doesn't need royalties anymore. He's selling hot sauce. There's more money in that than making music.

See, this is what you wind up looking like when you sell out....

Mike ain't hurting at all. Signing off his rights to the catalog was a SERIOUSLY bad idea, but I agree with Elvis, it absolutely proved his dedication to the band.
