I Think Wolfie is the main reason for this tour.

You know how the father goes after a lazy teenager to get a job?

This is the opposite, Wolfie told Ed to put down the beer, smokes, call Dave, get off his ass and play music.

Dave has wanted the reunion for years, but Wolfie got Eddie to see the light and got Ed and Dave to put the fighting aside and reunite for the tour.

We have Wolfie to thank for Van Halen 2007.

But Ed wouldn't be doing this if he REALLY didn't want to. At the end of the day, it's probably a whole mixture of reasons: Wolfie, legacy (lol), money, boredom etc

I think you really are on to something.

Since Ed and Al are so full of themselves they probably truly believed that they were Van Halen, and whoever else was in the band didn't really matter.

However Wolfie was smart enough to realize Dave was a key ingredient, and told that to his Dad and uncle. Finally, after many years and many discussions with Wolfie, Ed admitted that Dave contributed something to Van Halen!

I think there were numerous factors for this tour and Wolf was just one of them. I hope I am wrong but I think Ed is living on borrowed time and wants to spend quality time with his son. What better way to do it than with a 50 date tour. In my opinion, Ed did not look healthy at the press conference but looked ten times better than he did during the Bore Tour.
