I thought I'd make a thread about the late blues musician Roy Buchanan.

I first discovered him in 1978 in Seattle, when KISW played the title track of his album "You Are Not Alone" a lot.

I still have it on vinyl.

A VERY soulful player.

Roy had a song called "My Babe" from the late 70's/early 80's that kicked ass

Just checked - "My Babe" was the name of the cassette/album. Haven't played it forever.

I don't remember hearing him on KISw, but as diverse as the station was back in those days (they would go from The Clash to Zeppelin to Ac/Dc to Supertramp and think nothing of it) I'm not surprised.

I got a 2 disc compilation of Roy Buchanan accidentally from Columbia House or one of those record club scam outfits in the early 1990's. I'd never heard of him at the time, but I was surprised to find that it was good music. Roy worked a lot with Charlie Daniels back before he started writing about Devils playing fiddles and jingoistic right wing warmonger anthems.

Dude, I actually carved a record press entirely out of marble 30 minutes prior to KISW playing the track, but unfortunately the direction went the wrong way...:(

But interestingly enough, there's a subliminal message on the backwards recording that says don't trust SoftCock69 (yes, that's what it says) because he's making it up as he goes along...

 I first discovered him in 2005, a little difference in time but when I first heard him play I also noticed he was a soulful player and that's what got me into his music.

Is that how your church found all the "satanic" backmacked messages on your heavy metal records?? ;)
