Pretty typical Ozzy performance.

Can you imagine how long it must take to do the vocals on his albums these days?

At least we know he definitely isn't miming...:)

Jeez everytime I hear Zack play now his style irritates me just a little bit more than the last time...

What are all those stupid widdly fills about?

And that trebly tone?

I love that song on "Diary..." but that version is horrible.

Ozzy's been long overdue for a final bow.
Sharon will see to it that he works himself right into the grave though. She will then prop up the corpse for a few more shows. Wait a minute, she's doing that right now...............Nevermind

Ozzy's voice was dreadful on Ozzfest this year.

I couldn't believe he announced a post-Ozzfest tour. I doubt he will be singing any better this time around.

Ozzy's voice was dreadful in the mid 80s when I saw him but still worth seeing because of Jake E Lee. He improved quite a lot for a while in the early 90s but now his singing is shit again and with ZW playing it just doesn't do it for me.

Sounds like it is being played a semitone down from the recorded version, which was in E flat to begin with.

Wylde doesn't do much for me anymore. Hearing him playing RRs licks well was novel in the late 1980s/early 1990s, but those pinched harmonics are inserted all over every live tune to the point of overkill. Obviously the man can play a guitar, but wouldn't even put him in my top 50 of all time.

Even the crowd looks bored.

Ozzy's done the Sabbath reunion thing already (and, frankly, the Dio/Sabbath reunion is shitting all over the Ozzy/Sabbath one in terms of balls and awesomeness), and was Black Rain anything really that great? Not to these ears.

Upshot: can't come up with any great new material, sounds like shit live singing the oldies, every penny he makes goes to keeping his greedy wife in diamonds and pearls...she gets a nod for helping get Ozzy focused after Sabbath folded in '78, which contributed to him putting together a killer band who created two great solo albums (namely, his first two), which led to a much maligned but pretty good (IMO) post RR/Daisley/Kerslake live album, namely Speak Of The Devil, and a decent studio attempt after RR died (Bark At The Moon).

Outside of the odd track here and there, really haven't had much use for Osbourne post Bark At The Moon, so it matters not to me if he keeps going or not, but I'd feel pretty jipped if I had shelled out $50+ to hear him butcher Believer live like that.

'Ozzy Osbourne' has slowly morphed into a prescription drug addled corporation now; the dude needs a fucking TELEPROMPTER to cue him in on lyrics he's sung a million times over in the past. Has sadly everything to do with what 'rock' music has evolved into, but little to none of the spirit that made him worth remembering in the first place.

Who else is in his band now?

He goes through so many bassists and drummers that you probably couldn`t name them all.

Drummer is still Mike Bordin 9must be the longest serving Ozzy drummer) and the bassist used to play with Rob Zombie, I can't remember his name.

Yup, bang on.

I saw Ozzy at Wembley arena in June. He certianly sang better than that, not much better mind. But he was never about being an amazing singer, and he managed to get the crowd going nuts, and created a real pressence, a real sense of an event. He is still a good frontman, although he should definately be thinking about packing it all in whilst he still has some credibility left.

But for Zakk Wylde was the problem: now I'm a BIG zakk wylde fan, love BLS and Pride and Glory, as well as his early work with Ozzy, and I think he used to really, really smoke as a player. But now it's self parody. Every Ozzy song was packed with fills and way too many pinch-harmonics, he absolutley murdered Crazy Train and Mr. crowley by making them sound messy and too busy. Oh, and he played the same solo he's been playing since 1988. Shame really.

Funny watching him try and play the outro-solo on Bark at the Moon though, he really struggled and had to alter it - why has no-one since Jake been able to nail that?

But it was a good show nonetheless. If Zakk had toned it down a little, it would have been much more enjoyable.

.

That BATM outro has always fucking SMOKED.

Have the tab for it; once in a while I'll dig it out, plug in and give a go at it, but can never get it quite smooth enough.

I saw Ozzy years back on the Ozmosis tour, he sang pretty good then. This however is utter SHIT. ...and people give Dave a hard time, geezus.

There is no question that Ozzy's best years are long behind him. Zakk's not helping much as he's become so fuckin' annoying.

Give me Toni Iommi anyday. Ozzy is great when he sings with his old Black Sabbath mates. Now that's solid rock and roll without the Eddie Van Halen wannabe fills.

Absolutely, it's just a shame that Sabbath was playing essentially the same setlist for ten years almost, becasuse Ozzy can't sing most of the stuff on Sabbotage and Sabbath Bloody Sabbath anymore.

Ozzy with Zakk would be killer if Zakk would just tone it down a little.

I am sure his hearing isnt helping his tone either. ozzy is old and his hearing is prob shot. that wont help you sing very well.

not that I am making an excuse cause ozzy does sound like shit. :)

Ozzy's voice is fixed in almost every song in the live at budokan dvd !!! He's jumping up and down on half the songs not singing into the mic and his voice is loud and clear, The vocals on bark at the moon might be the only one's not fixed. OZ RULES BUT HIS DAY IN THE SUN IS OVER !!

At least the tickets to Ozzfest were free this year. But even at that price I think I would have had to leave.
