What Happened to Demonoid.com?

It's gone. No explanation nor indications of what happened. No slow release of info at the site saying "sorry, we're going away 'cause the RIAA" like Torrentspy did, or anything?

Anyone know what happened?

The CRIA threatened the company renting the servers to us, and because of this it is not possible to keep the site online. Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for your understanding.

Funny thing about that is that the "CRIA" doesn't even actually exist.

There is no Canadian equivalent of the RIAA nazis. CRIA is the name the RIAA nazis use when they want to fuck with Canadians. Reality is that corporations don't have that much power on that side of the border. But I'm sure Little Stevie Wonderbush would love to change that......

For the renting company, the impact to them is nothing & gets them off their backs. For Demonoid, I'd just move hosting... Or devise a legal plan like the pirate bays...
