I got my honorable discharge 29 years ago today from Uncle Sam's Army.

And then another great anniversay....

29 years ago tomorrow, I saw Van Halen for the first time....

Sept. 29, 1978 at The Arena in Seattle.

Usually I don't remember the anniversary until it is a week later or whatever.

Not a major thing, but being a rock musician and being in the service at that time and place were just too much of a conflict.

And it was peacetime army too.

Not to mention the moral and state of the service was at an all time low because of Vietnam. The guitar player in our band did two years in Iraq and took his guitar. He got real good over there. LOL! He said he had no kids, no wife, no job, they ate like kings and he had enough free time to really jam on the guitar. The only bad part is you could be blown up or shot. LOL!
