Here's Jimi Hendrix playing through what looks like some Fender Dual Showman 2x15 speakers and probably a Dual Showman amp head. Notice the neck of his Strat if from a Telecaster. The Marshalls sounded better in my book but the Fenders were getting the job done.

Because it's for amatures and not so amatures. Jimi is God. He deserves his own thread!

Plus it's not just the playing I want to share and discuss. It's the speakers, amps, and interesting custom Strat he's using.

Yeah. Some great You Tube stuff. I've checked a lot of it out.

Newport Pop Festival. This video was from the day after the abysmal performance by the Jimi Hendrix Experience.

He came back and jammed for a long time with an all-star bunch of peeps, because he felt really badly about his performance the day before and wanted to make it up to the audience..

So the Fender rig is not his.

I have both days on CD.

Damn, that first day's show sucked fucking ass!

I love the dudes trying to get onstage. They're just shoved off.

Jimi sounds pretty good through the Fenders too.

He's getting more of a Ted Nugent type vibe but he's playing the classic Nuge rig of 100 watts of 6L6 into big 15 inch speakers.
