Welp, I was asked about it earlier today! See, I was wearing said shirt...watching football at a sports bar. RAIDERS lose....like, sitting there with the the little woman and my cane. While we're waiting on the tab,I notice an uneasy look in the little woman's eyes...staring directly behind me.

Disregarding the cane, I simultaneously act like I'm fumbling for the keys, and turn around.

The little woman says something like, "WHAT THE FUCK IS YOUR PROBLEM?" I go "She wasn't talking to me brougham...."

Right after that, the dipshit that had lurked up says something about my shirt. The little woman told him that she wasn't wearing a fucking skirt. Long story shorter, the dipshit says he has no problem with the little woman....asks about the Van Halen shirt.

I go, "whattdya wanna know about it?"

"2007.....is that a fake?"

The dipshit had no fucking clue.....he knew nothing about VAN HALEN being on tour.

Why is that?

I've come across a few people who have no idea VH is on tour... much less with DLR. The look of shock in their faces when I tell them that it is in fact true is priceless.
I guess if you don't read online music news and don't listen to rock radio, you'd have no idea... I've never heard anything about it on my local 7:00 news...

Rock radio doesn't really exist here. Formulatic bullshit courtesy of CC does....3 stations.

Get this....there's a channel called DAVE FM (http://www.dave.fm/) here. CBS. Full-on adult-cuntemporary horseshit. Demographic-based gambit.

Make no mistake, the CC will play RWTD....the CBS will play IW.

Neither one will put the current VH tour over though....in the Atlanta market.

Does everything boil down to promotion in MAJOR markets involved??

I hear ya on that CC bullshit... they suck ass for sure. The local classic rock station here has made mentions of the VH tour.. they even had a contest for a bus ride to the D.C. show, but it fell through for some reason. Maybe it has more to do with where VH is touring, or is going to tour, for people to hear about it? I'm sure once they announce the 2nd leg, we'll be hearing about it more in the S.E.

I got an email yesterday from that shitty Project 961 station (I'm still on their mailing list from back when they were 96Rock) where they said that they'll be making a VH concert announcement for Atlanta this friday at 5pm.

I was a little surprised, because they mostly play just new rock/alternative/rap rock shit.

I would not have been surprised to see them skip Atlanta altogether, like other rock tours have, because there are NO real rock radio stations anymore in Atlanta. you've got that DaveFM shit, two "new rock" type stations and one "classic hits" (think Classic Rock format but without any testicles) station.

since I got XM, I only ever listen to traditional radio when my wife turns it on.
