Hey at least he isnt running out of breathe every second
song and having to take "T-Shirt Signing Breaks" just
to get through the gig...

If anyone expects the late 70's again they are nuts.

I had an idea of what this would be like when
it eventually happened, and everything I've seen
so far has far outweighed my expectations.

They are doing fookin grate ! Cant wait to see
it first hand...

They arent the young guys they used to be, but from what I have seen and what I have heard first hand, they are rocking hard, and in the end that is what counts

even if he's a little slower than before, he ends up offering a better performance than most new artist are offering...

It did seem odd seeing those youtubes, but I'm with Panamark in that everything I've seen is much better than I thought they'd be capable of, and Matt White nailed it as well in that what Roth has done live the last several years solo post Sam and Dave tour has been toned down.

Frankly, to see Roth try to pull off the high kicks and splits and come up a bit short (as he did the last time I saw him a year and a few months ago) on this tour would be more cringeworthy than him not doing them at all.

The band, the ENTIRE band, sounds really fucking good.

Big Troubles said it.

Hey, I got to see him "Forget the words maaaaan" back in the day

I saw him do the flying leap off the drum risers when he could do so without breaking his foot.

I am glad he is now being a totally serious vocalist.

He is delivering the goods.

Dave is the MOTHERFUCKING MAN!!!!

My guess is that Dave is under contract to behave himself..to be cautious...so to speak...

For 53 years old he is moving pretty damn good. He does seem a little reserved though. Possibly the brothers told him to tone it down, who knows. Theres very little bullshiting inbetween songs also. That ain't a bad thing since they're squeezing in a hell of a lot of songs in 2 hours. Either way I was blown away by the show. It wasn't a concert it was a major event!

I don't get it, people complain about Dave's singing or lack of, but, when he sings and isn't running around like a ADD teenager, you complain he is singing too much and not performing? This was my 3rd show this tour, Dave is as close to a 1984 Dave could be for a 53 year old rockstar. I think people don't really understand how impressive his showmanship was or how difficult his performances were agility wise.

Kinda does feel like it, or at the very least he took a cue from all the interviews the Van Halens gave over the years (which Roth undoubtedly read) where they pissed and moaned about what a primadonna showboat he was.

Toning down the ego a bit may have been a wise move on Dave's part when rejoining the band.

Fact is, Dave would be playing the same old 3,000-5,000 seat circuit this year had he went out on the road solo this year, for a fraction of the payday and satisfaction he's probably getting now. And Al and Wolfie would be sitting around 5150 studios watching Ed drink himself to death.

Those two things alone (money and satisfaction) are worth temporarily treading a tad bit more lightly than usual for some (Dave), and temporarily getting ones shit together for others (Ed).
