I was lucky enough to not only be there, but i had a backstage pass and stood in the front on the floor. I didnt meet any of the guys but i did see the crew gas up the Vanhalen blimps and the giant microphone ha ha ha. I put the pass on the bill of a Vanhalen world tour 07 baseball cap, it is very cool Im not gonna ever wear it.
Greatest show on earth folks it was my lucky day

You had to look pretty hard to find an empty seat last night dude. There was a line around the block for last minute sales. Not everyone got a ticket. There was a lot of begging going on.

Am I noticing Wolfgang's background vocals in Jamies Cryin' sounding much stronger in the mix and in general than in some of the earlier shows? (Sounds Awesome to these ears - glad y'all had a good time!!)

:rockout:

Wow the official press and the blog-0-sphere are writing about the Madison Square Garden show as if it was the second coming of X.

Oh yeah (almost forgot) On my way into the Garden, ABC news was filming the crowd and talking to people, when the camera was on me I pointed to my Eat Em and Smile shirt, gave the camera the finger and yelled -Hey Sammy Eat Shit! ha ha ha this got a roar of approval from the crowd .I hope they aired that with one of those little halos to block the finger and a bleep for the curse.

I am fairly certain they were recording this show. While I was sitting there an hour before the show, I scoped out the set-up. There were way many more cameras than were needed for that whole backscreen job. That and there were too many non-news/media cameraas getting artsy crowd shots outside the Garden.

Was surprised that no one else outside gave 'em more thought. But, then again, it is New York.

God I hope so!! I searched but couldn't yet find a picture of the line around 32nd street you described. I think that would be a great shot....with the VH logo on the marquee or whatever.

Thanks all for your impressions and I am so glad, I'm so glad, I'm glad, I'm glad, I'm glad you had a great show.

Ft. Lauderdale is beckoning me! Florida in February is really the best time to be there.

It was down and around 33rd, in front of the Borders and that huge lobby there towards the escalator from the subway -- not the actual sidewalk. I, the stupid concert noob, got on the line. Thankfully the nice guys in front of me told me i could go straight in. If that's what the line was like at 6:40pm, I don't want to know what it looked like at 7:40pm.

It was loud, it was awesome, it was rocking, and it was the best time I've ever had in my entire life (which is sorta sad, but I'll own up to it). I stood the whole time despite being on my feet already all day, I danced like no one was watching, I sang at the top of my lungs, and I got lost in the music.

People will make fun of me, but you know how some people will talk about having these spiritual experiences with religion? For me, I get those with music. And boy, was it one huge spiritual experience for me. Altho, I'm certain I was affected by some sort of contact high. lol :D

I've seen a couple of peeps here mention something about another go around for the tour. I'm going to have to save up just in case. I want some closer seats next time!

Oh man, I so thought Panama was the end of my voice. Somehow, but some miracle, my voice stayed in tact and I was able to talk all day long at work no problem. Peeps were surprised cuz I was there early and with bells on. Even I thought I was going to be a zombie at work today.

Glad ya'll (Im from the South) had a great show, and I'm hoping that a dvd comes out soon. I noticed that everyone wears the same clothes, with the exception of Ed who wears different color pants from time to time, but the same shirtless show. This comes in handy when editing from different shows. Playing at MSG would have to be a blast for anyone, but Diamond Dave at the Garden would be (as he would probably say), STELLAR! I say...

I predicted that this tour was going to be the polar opposite of the 04 fuck-up in every way, and it is!

I saw them at the Meadowlands and was disappointed I didn't see the Garden show. But I have to say that it's great to see them back in NYC on the world's biggest stage, playing to a packed house with Dave at the helm once again. I can guarantee that this show is the pinnacle of the tour and a personal triumph for Dave to be back on top again. It's been a long time coming and I am happy for all of them, especially Dave. He's back where he belongs-again.

From what I've heard so far, Ed played really good at this show. Looks like Ed has moved to a more center stage position too, probably so he can fookin' hear what's going on.

The show was absolutely fantastic. Eddie sounded better than I dared to hope judging from some of the previous boots I´ve heard. I also noticed that he wasn't doing that many scissorkicks if any at all. Maybe he was concentrated on playing, if the show actually was recorded for a DVD release, one could only hope.

Can't figure out why he is not using the Frankenstein replica provided by Fender. Out of the guitars used during the two shows I witnessed, the frankenstein had the best tone. I guess he is just comfortable with the wolfgang style guitars.
