Do you think there'll be a Crazy From the Heat part 2?

Not Fair Warning VH, but enough drama since the last book to write another one.

Just a thought.

Hopefully it will sound like 1985, where they left off.

The live album we all have been waiting for from the 1984 tour will now be the live album 2007 and DVD.

Since the tour appears to be going through at least April. I expect the album to be released in November 08.

It would be nice to have a live album with the original band.

I have a feeling new material will be in the summer of '09 at the earliest.

No offense, but if you wonder this you aren't a fan.

Eddie has already said there is enough Van Halen music already recorded to go on after he's dead. They only need Dave to come up with the vocals and release something. The 2 DLR songs on Best Of.. were already recorded before he was even in the picture, and same with the 2 songs Sammy did on BOBW

The longer this lasts, the more likely a new album becomes....

If you mean MWM and CGTSNM.

Me Wise was written and recorded with partial lyrics put in by Sham. Sham in fact sued over this and I believe it was settled out of court for around $50 G's.

CGTSNM was musically written during the 96 debacle with Dave putting in the lyrics without much re-writes. Thats why I always enjoyed CGTSNM a bit more than MWM.

BUT, if those 2 songs are an indication of what Ed feels/thinks would sell great now, then he is mistaken. The die hards will love it. Ed could piss in Daves mouth while Dave gargles it and most of us will buy it. Well Elvis would anyways... He'd still bitch about the lack of Wolfies bass thumping participation!

Id like to think there is enough material for a new album (or 9 according Ed) but I have some serious doubts to the amount of material and the actual quality.

Plus right now, the tour they are doing is nostalgic. If there was ANY new material on the horizon, dontcha think they'd throw it in there ala "Im So Glad/Girl Gone Bad" from the 82 tour?

Great pub for ANY band right now would be to play over seas for the troops.

Kinda sounds like a classic Van Halen idea.

They will tour the world until they are forced to make a new studio CD. This could take years.

Remember there is no money in recording. Only in touring and merch. There is no incentive for them to record a new studio CD, and the downside is unattractive if the CD is not well received.

In short. Dave's radio failure and Eddie's divorce made them broke enough and humble enough to do business together because they both need the money.

Dave made a ton of loot even though he did not succeed at radio...

Loot can't help the ego and you know that whole situation stung him

I bet Dave has more money than Ed and Al. Dave - never married, no kids, much more intelligent, came from a wealthier family. Ed and Al - divorces, kids, not as intelligent as Dave, Dad died broke I far as I can tell.

I don't think Dave was bummed too bad by the radio thing. He knew going in there was a high risk of failure.

Anything with the OLD bass player will stay in the vaults !!! I'd bet just about anything. Lets hope for a live 07/08 dvd-cd.

There has been plenty of drama since Dave releasd crazy from the heat, 10 years ago. Three failed Van Halen album attempts between 2000/2002, the Sam and Dave tour, the radio show, and finally, the current tour, wow, can`t wait for the updated issue.
However, Van Halen are in great shape and with the prospect of new material and futher touring, Dave will not risk opening up old wounds!
I hope Van Halen stay together for at least 5 years, and release a couple of new studio albums in that time.

Dave took the radio gig at the beginning of 2006, when he knew all the time that a Van Halen reunion was on the cards. He used the show to keep the clasic Van Halen legacy alive, it was great publicity for Dave and Van Halen. What a clever way to retain his celebratley status, when his solo career was dead!

I'd like to say a new album (and if the rumours are true a new album with Dave was pretty much in the bag a while ago), but I've got a feeling they'll pull a Van Hagar instead - release a Live CD and DVD, then tour Europe/Asia on the back of that.

They just better not release 4 new songs along with a live album. If the fricken Cure can come out with a new double album without any keyboards VH should be able to release a full length album of 12 songs.

I think there will certainly be a live/dvd album released this year of the current tour. I really want a new studio album though, they should make one to move forward as recording artists, and to promote futher touring.

I think we all can agree a new album is wanted by all!
