I don`t think so.

His solos are always technically very good but in the early days some of his stuff really stood out.

I`m thinking of "Wrathchild", "Killers", "The number of the Beast" and "Phantom of the opera".

His solos in those particular songs are his best.

A great fast player, but unfortunately in recent years his solos are pretty much fret wankery without the recognizable melodies he used to conjure up.

Unlike Adrian Smith`s whose are always well thought out although he doesn`t have Dave`s speed and flash.
