Was the backing track good ?? Most of em suck they have
to make a subtle change (that always is noticeable to the
discerning ear) to allow for copyright laws. I've heard some
BT's that sound great, yet there will be a crucial part of the
song where they change the key or play the fifth note instead
of the root, that sucks.. To the average karaoke singer, their
voice will still fit in, but it always sounds off to me..

Eyes, are you talking about Karaoke or a cover band? My last one(s) did a lot of CVH...do you notice people go NUTS when you DON'T play the standards? Y'know, everyone expects "YRGM" and shit,

My last singer used to get so pissed...his stage rap SUCKED, so I'd throw in a CVH riff or something between songs when he was doing his "dead air" impersonation...people loved it, though...
