I dont think I've ever seen a thread for this topic before ?

Whats *THE BEST* dual guitar solo out there,

Is it something like "Hotel California" or perhaps
some of those metal masterpieces of Iron Maiden
and Judas Priest ???

You cant beat a well executed dual pronged attack :)

That's when you should have immediately listened to the voice in your brain that probably said that you shouldn't have posted it in this particular thread.

Feel free to strip yourself from the illusion that your opinion carries any significance.

Play nice Chaps !!

I loved both clips. I didnt say they had to be playing at
the same time, so T&S's example is fine. MX2U, I knew
I would get a Megadeth out of ya !! COOL !!

Maiden freak reporting with this very fine specimen, Sir :)

Saw them perform this six times and every time was absolutely amazing, but when I caught them in Charlotte on the World Slavery Tour, they let the sprinklers go seconds before the solo and "down in falls comes the rraiiinnnn." It was just unbelieveable! Such a long tune (three part Youtube) so I only posted the part relevant to this thread.

I respect Maiden more now, than I did in the 80's.

They are unstoppable. Thanks SparkieD !

Do we draw the conclusion that Iron Maiden
are the best dual guitar attack, or can someone else
have an example that is better ?

Its always been a toss of the coin job for me
between Dowling and Tipton, and Smith/Murray..

I feel we are forgetting a duo.....

Actually I've lost respect for Maiden lately, they just couldn't give a shit who their fans are. Avenged Sevenfold? No one who's reached puberity is impressed.

A lot of people to be mentioned here, but I'll choose just two of them solo duals.

Johnny Winter/Rick Derringer on "Meantown Blues" (And Live), they play a kickass break, answering each other in the stereo.

Dick Wagner/Steve Hunter on Lou Reed's "Rock 'n' roll Animal". Reed sings like a cow, but the rhythm section and the two guitarists play incredibly great music. Their intro to "Sweet Jane", and most of their stuff on the rest of the album are among the best examples of stunning guitar interaction IMO.

Sorry, Panam', my friend, I've been searching for approaching versions, but either they were slower or they only featured JW alone, with no Derringer or other second guitarist.
As for Reed, the performances you find on youtube are different and much less catchy - plus, again, Reed REALLY sings like a sick cow...

Lots of amazing stuff in Thin Lizzy, agreed! The double attack is guitar/bass though. But it's right on anyway IMO.

I DO NOT BELIEVE ANY VIDEO EXISTS, BUT THERE WAS A BRIEF PERIOD WHEN JIMMY PAGE AND JEFF BECK WERE BOTH PLAYING GUITAR IN THE YARDBIRDS, DOING EVERYTHING IN UNISON......THERE WAS A LIVE ALBUM PUT OUT AND THEN RECALLED BY WAY OF PAGE FILING A LAWSUIT.
NOT ALL COPIES WERE RECOVERED.
IF ANYONE HAS A COPY OR CAN FIND IT, PLEASE PUT IT UP.
AMAZING STUFF.
I HEARD IT ONLY ONE TIME, ABOUT TEN YEARS AGO.
