    Ice Cream Man

Love the solo after the song is converted from acoustic with DLR, watched him perform Ice Cream Man in Denver last weekend, after loads of people told me he wouldn't do it... and I gotta say, Dave definitely hasn't lost any "flavor".
Only one request to all the lucky SOBs who got to see him perform with the ice cream shaped guitar... tell me what it was like! :p

Several of the vid boots I've seen from this tour have Ed struggling a bit with the ICM solo, particularly the beginning...dunno if it's just beyond what he's capable of now to pull it off, but he hasn't nailed it yet this tour from what I've seen...

Well, Terry... I do wish that I was around in the day when EVH was younger, but I wasn't born just yet. I don't have much to compare this tour to, but I do intend to see the concert in April in Rosemont, IL. I'll get what I can from the best in the world, no matter how old. Plus... Diamond Dave and EVH are just plain hot! lol

Not saying EVH sucks now, or anything, just that at times he's a bit uneven these days live...

Initially thought it was because perhaps he just plain hadn't played the tunes in so many years, but even the recent live clips still display how erratic he can be live sometimes, and the band are...what...40 or so + shows into the tour?

However, overall, the band are sounding and performing MUCH better than I frankly thought anyof them (even Dave) were capable of at this point; Roth's voice is in good, strong form. Alex is playing fine. Wolfie is doing fine. Ed is playing well, save for a few bum notes and solos here and there...got to see them in 1984, and am looking forward to seeing them again in less than two weeks.

          It'll be a great show.

Totally my favorite song! Seeing it live made me so happy.
I honestly didnt think they would play it either! But as soon as Dave walked out onto stage with that acoustic guitar and the spotlight on him, i knew!
It was great live, and the story Dave tells before the song starts is hilarious.
