    DIO to play the UK

    Dio To Play UK Dates
    14th February 2008


    Big fat exciting and unexpected news, folks: The awesome Dio are to play a few dates in the UK in May.

    There are few confirmed details available anywhere, but SeeTickets and Ticketweb are advertising a couple of UK dates for this May.

    Tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday 15 Feb and it is plausible that several more dates will appear at that time, but at the moment there are just two dates available.


    The dates are:

    27 May – Birmingham Academy
    28 May – London Astoria

      Hopefully he'll add a Manchester date, going to Brum means taking a day off for me...

      Should be killer though....

                  VIV CAMPBELL ??? lol...

                  I somehow doubt it...

                  I had the pleasure of seeing that line up,
                  I think one of the Appice bro's was on drums too..

                  Cant remember exactly what year
                  It was in Melbourne, DIO officially blew us all away
                  that night. The thing that I remember most was
                  thinking how much better he sounded live, than
                  on the record.. It was almost an anti-climax going
                  back to the studio recordings again...

                      No, I think Dio already had time booked for his band before H&H got underway. There are strong rumours of a H&H album....

                          This could be out of date/old line up but on the
                          Dio website it has the band listed as -

                          Simon Wright
                          Drums

                          Scott Warren
                          Keyboards

                          Rudy Sarzo
                          Bass

                          Craig Goldy
                          Guitar

                                  Got to see the 'classic' DIO lineup twice; once on the Last In Line Tour, and once at the beginning of the Sacred Heart tour (before Vivian bolted and Goldie joined).

                                  I seem to remember hearing a jpeg of DIO live in...I wanna say 2002...and he had this shit-hot young guitar player with him...they did a version of I Speed At Night that was totally blistering.
