Wow... works in a bit of 'Won't get fooled again', then moves on to a nasty bit of 'little guitars'.. you really have to wonder what Al is thinking sitting back there. Some feedback.. the drill... Cathedral.. it's the Lauderdale show all over again for me.
I hate to say it, but I'm starting to hate this tour... thanks, Eddie.

I do not get what has gotten into you there Vain but I just was at a show a week ago in Des Moines and he was not drunk at all and I have been to a show with Douglas T and if he says the he thinks the vid seems tweeked or does NOT do it justice then I genuinely believe him. Furthermore he was at the fuckin show and I always go with 1st account over a fucking you tube vid. that looks like it was filmed from the top of the arena. C'mon lighten the fuck UP!:(

I was at this concert and shot this video in Orlando. Truthfully, while I was pumped about the tour, I was less excited looking at the earlier tour videos. They don't do it justice a bit. It was 1,000,000,000% better live. You can't explain it other than: HOLY CRAP. I've seen them 8 times and it got better and better every song.

i was at the same des monies show as shetterlini only i was row 13 floor right in the middle 10 feet from the ramp.

eddie played very well at this show not as sloppy as kansas city and let me say NONE of these you tubes are close to giving the overall vibe of the show.

you had to be on the floor like i was 10 feet from roth on the ramp to see how much effort roth was putting into his singing.

as for whether eddie drinks, i couldnt care less as long as hes not falling down stupid drunk.

eddie was half lit on booze at the 78 show at royals stadium,so what its rock and roll fer gods sake.

Ed seemed more bored or uninspired than drunk. Playing the same stuff night after night has got to get old. They should change the set list, freshen things up a bit.

Don't get me wrong, the shows are great - no complaints there. I'm not sayin he was drunk at the Lauderdale or Orlando shows - in fact i'm certain he was sober... I'm just saying that his playing has been very underwhelming for his solo spots... just sloppy and it seems like he doesn't care. I also believe that he's having problems with his wrists/hands and that may be the reason he's staying away from doing the fast runs.
I have 2 more shows to go on this tour and I'm hoping for the best. The best show that I've seen so far was MSG, and it was AWESOME. Eddie's solo for that show was everything you wanted it to be. What we're getting lately is crap in the overall big picture of VH.

Ehhh... it's sloppy, you can't deny it. (or maybe you can) I'm not lookin to start a flame war here. I just don't get how Eddie can play the solos in 'song format' pretty well and then slop it up for his solo spot.

I nreally think he is grasping for different things to play or do. Wrists I think are bothering him sometimes but I truly believe he is bored with the same shit so alot of improv is coming out which is good and bad at times.

Yeah, I can agree with that.. but it's unfortunate that his improv now has turned to garbage... Eddie used to be the king of 'turning it on'.. now we get feedback.

Np I diagree with you VAin, I like how he brings in some Who or a few shows with the drumstick or now the drill. It means he is thinking sbout doing things different so the solo isn't the same thing every night but still having to keep alot of the material in there so the avg fan can relate......

This is like being pissed off that Michael Jordan shot jumpers late in his career instead of flying through the lane and dunking on everyone. We can either enjoy what he has and can give today, or stay home and watch videos from 1978. It is a fact of life, he's older and is doing what he can. I am huge Michael Anthony fan, but maybe it did take new life from Wolfie, and DLR, to energize them to get back out there. But even enthusiam and energy can't overcome age. He may reach into the bag of tricks a night here or there but to consistently perform like 1978 in 2008, is a tough one, even for the mighty VH.

Personally I think at times (especially when he's alone on stage) his confidence might fail him a little and he just freezes up. I honestly think that some of the licks he used to do live, scare him into not fully attempting them now.
