Just bought myslef a Fernandes Ravelle sustainer guitar

woo hoo , cant wait till it gets here. shame its comin all the way from the states and will get held up in customs.

I always fancied one of these and $600 seemed really reasonable. Easpecially as, you hardly get these in the u.k. so if it sucks i could probably flog it on ebay for a small profit.

The harmony central reviews have it in the 9.'s for sound action yadayadayada

I wasnt too keen on the shape at first , but its grown on me. It was either that one or there les paul shaped one the 'monterey' as they call it

They don't use their guitars just the Sustainer pickups.

I guess their guitars might be reasonably ok.

All of this guitars/amps/effects is all personal taste + how much money you've got to spend.

The big problem IMO is places like guitar center, 99% of the people who work in those places don't have a fucking clue at what they are looking at.

I've went into guitar stores tried out guitars that i liked the look of and I go to the salespeople in there.....

"Ok, I like this but before I buy it I want you to set up properly"

they have said to me "That will cost you another 30 quid on top, mate".....

First off,

I am not their "Mate", I am their customer.

Secondly,

I am buying the guitar to play it. I'm a guitar player not somebodys fucking roadie or guitar tech.

Hence when Assholes in guitar shops tell me that bollocks I don't fucking buy anything from them.

Lol ,gotta agree with you on the sales guys, The majority of them dont know shit.


Although bizarely enough i was in sound control in scotland trying kramer 1984 (which i was un impressed with) and one of the sales guys came over about 40ish, he'd heard me arsing around on a couple of vh'esque riffs. we got talking and the guy took the guitar and for about fifteen minutes did a note for note job on a load of early evh solos. I had to laugh when the guy said ''sorry i dont realy know any of the hagar era stuff''
