While the Army was dead, I went completely apeshit :monkey: on my gear, focusing mainly on three of my guitars; new pickups, hardware, a whole new BODY in one case...

http://a353.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/87/l_b95f5530b110c0bfdc262e28f2149150.jpg

Yanked all my EMGs in favor of Duncan Trembuckers, and Classic Stacks in the neck-slots. Much better. Then, as I was poking around in the parts-closet one day during this, saw the body of my high-school sweetheart (guitar) I'd been preserving since the late 80s, figured, why not?

http://a525.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/51/l_32ab5159f20f4e896dfcb2591b44b284.jpg

Still need to get said neck for her, and finish the new body...and now Diamond Jimi and I are discussing having a Frankie-replica build off...for which I supplied him with a '71 quarter :D....I've got a zillion projects in the air...lol. :rockit:

Of most note, and I've raved about it from here even before the crash I believe, to Frankenstraat to DDLR and Rothfans was Big-Blocking all of my Floyd Rose Tremolos. UNBELIEVABLE improvement in sustain, note-clarity, projection, etc. Try one!! :D

besides the color, there is a difference between this guitar and regular ones.
it has an old style tune-o-matic. not a Nashville style.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who had the g.a.s. while gone.

I got a new Fender '60s reverse headstock. This thing is seriously bad ass for some swampy delta bluesy tones.
http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p301/indeedido/Picture001-5.jpg

Picked up a Toadworks Mr Ed Pedal. Dissappointed with its use for rock, BUT works fabulously with the strat. Has more of a fuzz box tone, but clear and articulate.
http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p301/indeedido/Picture002-6.jpg

Sold my Takamine jumbo acoustic and bought this Ibanez Euphoria EP9. Plays like butter. Thick rich tone too. Very cool guitar, so glad I found it.

http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p301/indeedido/Picture005-6.jpg

Made a few projects too. Made a Lynch tiger guitar. It is pretty spot on, I added a reverse banana headstock though. I need to buff it this week and put it together.

Still use a rack. Although I'm not one of these guys who process's themselves into oblivion. I love the versatility.

I f%*kin love the Intellifex! The way the delay still decays when you switch channels is brilliant. I've been thinking about getting one for years to replace the DSP 256 because of that and the fact that it hsas a higher processing rate .

What are you powering your pedals wif?

I'm using the Voodoo labs Pedal Power. Fairly compact with 8 isolated power supply's.

Killer...as for the neck and body...Warmoth parts? USACG? Tell us more... :)

Specs:
Warmoth Birdseye Maple boatneck with vinatage tint and stainless steel frets.
Corian Nut
Wilkinson bridge with compensated saddles.
Bridge pickup: Dimarzio Tone Zone T
Neck Pickup: Dimarzio Area T neck
Body: 3.2 lb Black Korina Warmoth hollow t (hollowed like a honeycomb) Black Kornia has a similar tone to mahogany.
Schaller Locking Tuners: satin finish
Electromatic jack
Dunlop Straplocks
Callaham control plate with heavy Callaham knurled knobs.
Pearloid Pickguard with Callaham stainless screws.
Callaham ferrules.
Fender Corona Neck Plate
I ordered a preassembled control plate from Acme guitarworks.. but when i got it I figured out that is was wired completely wrong. They even wired the output jack backwards. To top it off.. I waited 3 months for it! I will never order from them again!
After redoing the wiring here is what I got
4 way tele wiring with the bottom tone pot being a push-pull that is a kill switch when pulled up. Nice touch

Paint: Done by "PAINTGUY" from thegearpage.net. This is the second guitar that Larry has done for me and I can't express how cool this guitar looks. I am very happy with the finish and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone! I sent him a couple of pictures of a hot rodded motorcycle painted in Lime Green and he did his best to match the color.
The color is "Kandy Lime Green Metallic" (Correct me on that if I am wrong Paintguy) and is very.. very "hey look at me" shiny! It looks cool as hell!
The painted headstock is a cool touch and the fretboard is silky smooth!

Weight: 6.5 pounds
Sound: The guitar is a total rawk machine! The bridge pickup (Tone Zone T) sounds very thick. The guitar reminds me of a SG on the bridge pickup. I play Rock and Roll and this totally covers it. I am guessing that the very thick neck adds to the beef-e-ness of the guitar.
The neck pickup is a Dimarzio Area T and is a great match with the bridge. With the neck pickup on the 4th position it combines the neck and bridge together.. and gives a Les Paul tone. The neck pickup sounds great clean. It can cop some great surf and SRV/Hendrix tones and with a simple tone knob adjust.. blusey neck pickup tones.
The tele was fully shielded using Stew-mac copper paint and copper tape. The pickguard was shielded with copper tape as well. I used the star ground method to connect the cavities. The Dimarzio pickups are totally quiet by design. This is the only guitar that I have that is dead silent.. until you strike a chord. The first time I plugged it in I was wondering if I wired it wrong because it didn't make ay noise.. well.. until I struck the strings.

Very nice! I have two complete Warmoth builds and another Strat with a Warmoth neck, they make top notch parts. I had a similar experience the first time I wired up a set of Dimarzio Virtual Vintage pickups too...DEAD silent until you strike a string...gotta love that, though it's disconcerting at first! :D

:guitar:

I must investigate this "PAINTGUY" of whom you speak for a future build...

Bridge pickup: Dimarzio Tone Zone T
Neck Pickup: Dimarzio Area T neck

I prefer the boxy, woody "twaang" of the Seymour Duncan Vintage Broadcaster bridge pickup, when I can't use a peeled-down pre-75 Fender Tele bridge pickup.

My favorite Tele pickup right now is stock from a '68 Fender, it's mounted in its original home a 68 bridge on a Fender Mexican tele I got from a pawnshop for $100 with a dinged-up neck which is sanded down nicely. I used to hate the feel but now I prefer the roughness but just on that one guitar.

It's one of the first guitars I bought after all my stuff was stolen.
