Well, if they're NOT making a record, they might as well pull the plug on the whole damn thing.

Highly doubt it....

More likely spED will be producing and guesting on Wolfie's solo debut first......

Thread title nearly floored me...

I woke up this morning and started doing chores to Peter Frampton 'Do You Feel'

Then the Van Halen Began...

Eruption at 8am in the cave with every angry device I own that can pump the jams. No, I am not sorry neighbors.

Then it was much, much more and still is a Van Halen Marathon at my pad.

Some of my brothers from the other mothers sent ole' JD =VH= concert vids that are now the main focus of the house. (nothing is subtle here, Jack)
Volume man, VOLUME!!!

Things are paused so I can refill my rum eggnog and talk to a man about a horse and I'm feeling pretty good about telling you cats to crank it when I see this thread title.

Heart skips a beat then.....DAMMIT JIM...speculation...

Nothing wrong with speculation, Holmes. It nearly killed me though.

There Can Be Only One

=VH=

The Mighty Van Halen should be the 2009 album title.

Fuck N A, Jack!

Now it's back to cleaning for my baby and cranking Van Halen for my Rock & Roll soul!

I'm aliiiiiiiiiiiive

OWWWWWWWWWWWWW!

I could go for a new tour ... one with the whole classic line up ... not the same without Mike.

Heck, I'll even take another tour of what we just had. The Police made no bones about it...after the tour they were DONE. Even made a big production about it at the last show - had a fat lady come out & sing, etc... Sure I wanna see Mike up there and a true reunion, but if it was between Wolfie & nothing I'll take Wolfie and just toss ring dings to far stage right to keep him out of my line of sight for Dave & Ed.

Ed's probably into another case of Smoking Loon...:guzzle:

...far as actual new music with Dave that will be released for public consumption, well, we'll probably see yet another new, definitive, "THIS time I got it right/it's the guitar and sound I've been looking for all these years/all the other attempts were crap" EVH Signature Model guitar made by [insert manufacturer name here] long before any new tunes from 5150 with Roth at the helm.

New DLR VH RECORD For 2009 ?

Not Likely! I'd expect something rehashed before anything new came out. At best you might get a "Live at ..." CD or DVD, but I wouldn't expect anything new first. Besides, no new material was presented during the tour. What a wasted opportunity for promotion if there were any new material. Hope I am wrong!

As much as I'd like to see the original 4 - at this point in the game Mike is so far up spambo's ass he doesn't know which end is up. I saw VH 6 times in 07/08 and not once did I miss bass player.

Think about it - at the rate the shows were bootlegged, releasing any new material on tour would totally ruin the surprise/enthusiasm for said material.

I believe that we'll get something in 09. Will it be a DVD? Probably. I know that Al & Dave are going through about 20 bootleg DVDs from the last tour to get the feel of the show from the audience side. If they can get that out before summer, I'll be happy enough until there's an album.

Oh wait, are we being serious here?

I'm expecting another go-around with Mitch Malloy any day now, to be honest... :guzzle:

Honestly, out of the all the things the band could do and all the options they have for a new release, with the pace things get done at in Van Halen World these days I'm hoping the first order of biz isn't a sole dvd release of the last tour.

While I'll take what I can get, can think of many other things I'd rather see happen first.

Al's hinted at a release of some kind in 2009, whethers it's DVD or album that remains to be seen.

From the sounds of Ed, he's not planning anything until after his wedding in June

Hey, rumours suggest that Dave is OUT the band again, thats why the proposed live album, was not released for the x-mas market!
Sam is back in for a 2009 fall tour/anthology album. The anthology album will include rare demos, unreleased tracks, live outtakes, from both eras of the band! Van Halen have penciled in a new studio album with Sam, for a 2010 release!
I think Ed wanted closure on the Dave reunion thing, and he has always wanted Sam back!
Dave is planning a major tour of Europe at the moment. (ok magazine) His dream was to finish his career with Van Halen, but Ed has once again ruined the legacy!

OK - Sam's back in and once again he has to schill Dave era tunes on yet another rehashed, recycled third time around greatest hits. Then what about poor Mikey and Chickenshit? Some things never change.

I seriously doubt this... Dave is still on the official site. Sounds like a linkers wet dream.

Probably right. Except for the fact that, well, Xmas markets for music ain't what they used to be. But the fact that nothing hit this year does lead one to believe that it probably is over.

Sam is back in for a 2009 fall tour/anthology album.

Link?

The anthology album will include rare demos, unreleased tracks, live outtakes, from both eras of the band!

Wow, that's hella exciting. You must know somebody that knows somebody that knows a guy who has a girlfriend who knows this guy who's cousin works for Warner Bros. Otherwise you couldn't possibly have access to such information.

Van Halen have penciled in a new studio album with Sam, for a 2010 release!

What label is that going to be on? Can't be Warner Bros., due to the fact that I know somebody who knows somebody that knows a guy who has a girlfriend who knows this guy who's cousin works for Warner Bros. and knows that Warner Bros. has zero interest in Van Hagar at this point of the game.

So, if there are indeed plans for a 2010 release, who's fronting the cash? Who's producing the album? Engineering? How many tracks are planned? Where are they recording at? Who's managing the band? Again, what label is this being released on?

Since you're the fountain of infinite wisdom regarding what's going on in Van Halen and have deemed us worthy to know their future plans, why not spill all the beans? Is that deal with Sony closer to completion than it was in 2003?

I think Ed wanted closure on the Dave reunion thing, and he has always wanted Sam back!

Where's the link where he said "I really want Sammy Hagar back in the band; that's really what I want to be doing at this stage in the game, truthfully"?

Where's that quote at? Or do you know a dude who knows this girl who knows some other guy who knows this one fella that ran into Alex in a taxi?

Waiting.

Can't be Warner Bros.

I know don't know anybody in Burbank, who never cut checks for Stevie Nicks and regularly had The Eagles stopping by for handwritten advances.. who now no longer works for WB nor has still-warm ties to friends in the office who can't get her event passes and the like.. who doesn't say anything bout Van Halen changing anything to their payment arrangements. And I didn't say anything about it before because like I'm saying I don't know nobody in Burbank!

I don't even know my hole from my ass in the ground yet even I know there's no new Van Hagar product coming down the pike ok!

THAT would fuck everything up left unfucked by Wolfie touring "as" the VH bass player. Fuckkum!

"Were Back (And Were Better Than Ever)" was recently released unmixed & raw. Jim Norton is filling in on vocals.
