I'd probably have to go with Journey.. or any of that 80's stuff... I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for that shit.

This is the PG rated version of the R rated "Starfucker" which would be recorded by the Stones about 6 years later

Always liked this slice of cheese, but only because I really wanted to fuck Patty Smythe after seeing the MTV version of this video......

But the YouTube bastards won't allow me to embed a decent copy of that version, so here's the earlier version of the song instead........

The instrumentation's great. Carole King wrote it. One of the first uses of a moog. It had more going for it than most bubblegum songs for sure.

Dunno if that would have helped her any at that point. Schaffer had his previous experience at Saturday Night Live on his resume, and probably a lot of studio sessions, but this was probably just before the original Letterman show went on the air at NBC.

And John Bongiovi (as he was known then) was just some kid hanging around the Record Plant studio where his cousin Tony was a producer, hoping to get his own studio time. Not exactly much clout for the future king of hair bands then.

I was watching Metal Mania recently and they played a video I had completely forgotten about. It's one of those catchy ass songs that you can't get outta your head. I ended up digging the movie out of a box full of VHS' to watch it cause I don't have it on DVD. Anyways, it was on the soundtrack to Point Break.

RATT's "Nobody Rides For Free"

I keep hearing the melody in my head and its driving me nuts. I always thought RATT was cheesey but I like this song. Warren D'Martini layed down a pretty good lick and a melodic bluesy bridge in this one.

I always hated Don't Stop Believin'.

Then it was used in the last scene of The Sopranos...and it worked so well that I haven't been able to get the song out of my head since I saw it.

Godamn.

"Zombie" - The Cranberries

I really don't think that's a cheesy song - the lyrics are heartfelt and powerful, and reflect the horrors of beign in Ireland during the 'Troubles'. I would say that song is bordering on 'classic'.....
