    My latest Warmoth Build

I posted this in the "While the Army was dead" thread, but I think it deserves it's own thread.
I have 2 other build going on right now using USACG stuff. They are coming out really nice.

Ok here is my latest addtion.. a Warmoth Lime Green Telecaster. I wouldn't call it a build thread... maybe an assembly thread because I didn't personally make the body and neck.

    Specs:
Warmoth Birdseye Maple boatneck with vinatage tint and stainless steel frets.
    Corian Nut
    Wilkinson bridge with compensated saddles.
Bridge pickup: Dimarzio Tone Zone T
Neck Pickup: Dimarzio Area T neck
Body: 3.2 lb Black Korina Warmoth hollow t (hollowed like a honeycomb) Black Kornia has a similar tone to mahogany.
    Schaller Locking Tuners: satin finish
    Electromatic jack
    Dunlop Straplocks
Callaham control plate with heavy Callaham knurled knobs.
Pearloid Pickguard with Callaham stainless screws.
    Callaham ferrules.
    Fender Corona Neck Plate
I ordered a preassembled control plate from Acme guitarworks.. but when i got it I figured out that is was wired completely wrong. They even wired the output jack backwards. To top it off.. I waited 3 months for it! I will never order from them again!
After redoing the wiring here is what I got
4 way tele wiring with the bottom tone pot being a push-pull that is a kill switch when pulled up. Nice touch

Paint: Done by "PAINTGUY" from thegearpage.net. This is the second guitar that Larry has done for me and I can't express how cool this guitar looks. I am very happy with the finish and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone! I sent him a couple of pictures of a hot rodded motorcycle painted in Lime Green and he did his best to match the color.
The color is "Kandy Lime Green Metallic" and is very.. very "hey look at me" shiny! It looks cool as hell!
The painted headstock is a cool touch and the fretboard is silky smooth!

    Weight: 6.5 pounds
Sound: The guitar is a total rawk machine! The bridge pickup (Tone Zone T) sounds very thick. The guitar reminds me of a SG on the bridge pickup. I play Rock and Roll and this totally covers it. I am guessing that the very thick neck adds to the beef-e-ness of the guitar.
The neck pickup is a Dimarzio Area T and is a great match with the bridge. With the neck pickup on the 4th position it combines the neck and bridge together.. and gives a Les Paul tone. The neck pickup sounds great clean. It can cop some great surf and SRV/Hendrix tones and with a simple tone knob adjust.. blusey neck pickup tones.
The tele was fully shielded using Stew-mac copper paint and copper tape. The pickguard was shielded with copper tape as well. I used the star ground method to connect the cavities. The Dimarzio pickups are totally quiet by design. This is the only guitar that I have that is dead silent.. until you strike a chord. The first time I plugged it in I was wondering if I wired it wrong because it didn't make ay noise.. well.. until I struck the strings.
    Here are a few pics!

Here are a few pictures with the Kandy Tangerine HSS Strat with Bareknuckle pickups..
It is my other Warmoth build

    Very Happy!
The guitar turned out just how I expected. As with most of you that order parts from Warmoth.. it took me about 2 1/2 years until I got off my ass and decided to send the guitar to get painted.
Next up .. maybe a double bound Shell pink esquire with Don Mare pickups and a Bigsby?

That really is a piece, I like the red strat too , I think i may custom build my next strat as the Malmsteen one I bought last year was frankly atrocious. It needed serious work by a tech to get it right.

Yeah , no more off the peg for me.

        Very nice!

I gotta get off my lazy ass and post some of my stuff...

I built four guitars, had five necks scalloped, and have four more projects in their infancy...

Must be that lazy-ass military discipline that keeps you master...er..movitated...

        Haha, motivated even...

Love the Tele...not a big fan of fancy Strats though...

I think Strats and Tele's and Women look best when they have been worn in!

Me too, but I also like a cleanly finished, almost new looking Strat with stock (at least in apperance) appointments...

I reserve things like flame tops and fancy hardware for Les Paul and Gretsch type guitars...

I don't care what it is, if it's not setup right, and I can't just pull it out of the case and play then I can't use it.

I just bought a $25 strat copy, usa made. Neck felt XLNT and the body was black, all worn in. Great action, ain't plugged it in yet.

Fulla stickers, I just finished wiping the residue off the body with a hair dryer and my chick's nail polish remover. Probably the best value in a guitar of my life and the guy threw in a 16 ft cord, and a new pack of Daddarios, too in a fabric carry bag.

I kinda go back and forth...my oldest build has finish-checking and is beat to shit, scratched on, scuffed..my clear finished Koa Strat is starting to show some wear...my two more "traditional" Strats are in rather pristine condition...

I like my women slightly worn in...not too much...

                          Very cool Tele!

Nice but why do you need locking tuners on a non-trem guitar?

That said, give that blue Gibson with the Bigsby,

                              PLEASE!
