....So I’ve posted this at RF and will share here too, not quite verbatim, but… this debuted at NAMM this year, a new instructional series from a couple of my friends, one a former co-worker at a music instructional video production house's NEW company...definitely cooler than anything the previous company offered...lol

Very cool video layout and concept, technical advice, easy-to-follow demonstrations...shot in HD at one of our favorite hangouts...

Budding Metal kids will love it. And it includes all the footage that will make said kids in the Midwest salivate...the Rainbow, the Roxy, Skulls, Coffins, hot girls, etc.

It also, because of the HD, fully shows you what's going on, and WTF exactly they're talking about.





I've only seen copies of Volumes I and II so far , but it's going to be a continuing series of videos, as you can see...it's very well done, and has an intentional kind of Bill & Ted vibe with my two friends who narrate it...I may do some stunt-noodling for them in the future (and/or possibly be their shred "Rufus" ala George Carlin...LMAO)...I'm thanked in the credits of the series (so it must be cool), figured I'd return the love...

Ironically, I also worked with these two guys during my two-year stint at Guitar Center in late 99-early-00s, as well...

No problem. They're providing a historical perspective (pertaining to both the music scene at the time in addition to the gear used) as well, and because it's chaptered like a DVD, you can skip that and go straight to the lessons, or you can get all the background as well. And yes, there will be CVH references.

It is. LOL. This is geared mostly for beginners fir the first few volumes at least. But it's more comprehensive overall (especially for beginners to intermediates) and they'll build up to that Gilbert point, and will need people who can pull of those type of licks...

...Which is why when the thread started suggesting me as a mod here, I stated in advance "as long as management at both sites (meaning Sarge and War) didn't have a problem with it, I was open to the idea"; apparently they don't, so here I am.

Exactly. So much stuff online it's crazy. When I started out, it was basically save up $15, head to the guitar store and pick out a book of tabs....1 band, 1 album....choose wisely. Wore the hell out of my Judas Priest-Defenders of the Faith book.

I was even more behind the times than that, British steel on cassette
pausing it and learning by ear..... I can read sheet music, but I find
its faster to play along with the original ... (as long as you are
in the same tuning, its heaps faster)

I would have given my left gonad for the crap thats here now...
