    The Doors w/o Jimbo

This is from the last tour the remaining three did in 1972 playing "Love me two times." They also have a sax and bass player on this version:

    <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/dzl8q0TbsEc&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/dzl8q0TbsEc&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

If you couldn't hear it that well, here is one they played on european television:

    <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/yT4uvNe3wgQ&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/yT4uvNe3wgQ&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

and my favorite non-jimbo Doors tune "I'm Horny, I'm stoned"

    <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/4upqw_ywHD8&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/4upqw_ywHD8&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Ian astbury did a remarkable job on the 2001 tour.

It's not bad, and there were several occasions where Ray had to take over for Jim even when he was still alive because he was too drunk to perform. Ray Manzerak isn't a half bad singer, but if you listen to the Doors live with Jim in Boston or Phily, there's a huge spark that Jim brings...

I was actually impressed with his tribute performance which predated the tour and essentially got him the job. Today in fact I saw "She Sells Sanctuary" video by the Cult and was amazed about how good of a frontman he was in comparison with a lot of the crap today...

I don't think The Cult ever got their due...

I think Astbury channels just a little of the Lizard King's mojo, but not enough to reform The Doors...

I'd take the OTHER VOICES/FULL CIRCLE line-up over the Astbury line-up any day...

At least they tried new stuff and weren't just a tribute band...

Plus the OTHER VOICES album is actually really solid. I'd put I'M HORNY, I'M STONED, TIGHTROPE RIDE or especially SHIPS WITH SAILS up against so much of the old material...

And I still say Glenn Danzig would have done better than Ian Astbury in the tribute band tour......

The European television version has some nice instrumental jamming but the vocals don't do much for me...

                          Cool to hear though...
