Nationalism forced upon us

Haven't heard this talked about yet, but, when the world recovers from this economic crisis wouldn't it be safe to assume that some in the global market will be twice shy with being so invested in our markets? There are some in this country that think we should nationalize and not do business with any foreign countries....what if they decide the US market is too volatile? Fuck, we can't make steel, electronics, clothes, cars, furniture....you name it.

Its not that we don't know how...the workforce of trained craftsmen are gone....1 or 2 generations. Just a thought.

Your right about our manufacturing base being nothing more than a legend nowadays. Protectionism isn't the answer. In fact, nothing either party is/has doing is helping. They both promote the "consumer" lifestyle, and until that mentality is broken amongst the American people, we ain't going anywhere. As far as foreign investment in the U.S. -- don't count on it. Who in their right mind would consider starting a capital-intensive project in an environment where the rules change constantly and labor is ridiculously expensive? Get ready for some serious inflation later this year and into the next decade. It's going to be ugly.

There will be some foreign investment.

When it comes to market share with some products...ie:Phosphates...some businesses are in trouble...and quite frankly...on sale.
