Dave's relationship with Steve Vai

What does Dave think of Steve Vai nowadays? Do they get along? Does Dave think Vai's a jerk? The reason I ask I that I noticed that since Vai left Dave's band Dave has played very few Vai era songs live. Since there are so many good songs from that era I was wondering if Dave has a grudge against Vai. Any thoughts?
