No one is going to give up that much for Cutler. He's not worth one first rounder, much less two! A second rounder at best...

He's been in the league for 3 years, put up decent numbers:

54TD 37INT 86.0QBR in 3 seasons on a team thats .500 in the past 3.

The Potential is there, however what they're currently asking for is ridiculous, and hasn't even had a sniff at the postseason.

We have seen crazier shit though, only a 5th for Randy Moss?

I kinda hopes he stays with Denver. Being a Charger fan, we play them twice a year and there is an awesome rivalry right now between Cutler & Rivers. Adds a bit of the unknown to the game since verbal wars have broken out & we're just waiting for some actual blows to be thrown.

The jets don't even have a pick til the middle of the round...
Now that Farve is officially retired... they should give up their #17 (I think it is)
And a pick in 2010... which would probably be another mid rounder.

Just a thought.

Really? I can't see the Cowboys trading Romo. Hmmm, would be interesting. Would Cutler get Jessica Simpson in the deal? She's getting kinda fat so her trade value is dropping.

McDaniels sticking by his disgruntled quarterback

DANA POINT, Calif. (AP) — The Broncos may be listening to offers for disgruntled quarterback Jay Cutler at the NFL owners meetings this week. If coach Josh McDaniels has his way, though, they'll try to work things out to keep Cutler in Denver.

"He's our quarterback. We can't predict the future. He's our quarterback, we want him to be our quarterback, we made that very clear to him and we hope he feels the same way," McDaniels told the NFL Network on Monday, a day before he speaks publicly about the feud for the first time.

McDaniels reiterated that trade talks never reached owner Pat Bowlen's desk, a sign that the issue never got to the serious stage.

"Conversations were had and we've never denied that, but at the same time it's our job to look at every opportunity that we can to see if it's something that could improve our football team, and that's what we were doing," McDaniels said.

Their relationship was strained when McDaniels failed to inform his Pro Bowl quarterback before trying to trade him for Matt Cassel, whom he tutored as New England's offensive coordinator last year. Cutler asked for a trade through his agent after two meetings failed to soothe his hurt feelings.

McDaniels has said he'd rather meet face to face with Cutler again to try to patch their differences before seriously considering dealing the 25-year-old passer who set several franchise records last season.

"I know it's been a very public issue and this is something that I think happens more than people realize. We have a relationship, nobody knows where it stands right now, but it's going to get better," McDaniels said. "It will continue to get better, I believe that. I think it's something that both parties have to work toward a solid resolution. We have a good nucleus of players there that are looking forward to seeing him back at the facility and working with him. It will get to that point at some point in the near future."

Of their strained relationship, McDaniels said: "I absolutely feel that it is not irreparable."

Cutler skipped McDaniels' first team meeting last week and hasn't participated in the team's offseason program, which is voluntary. He has said he'll show up for a mandatory minicamp April 17-19 if he's still a member of the Broncos.

Cutler is halfway through the six-year, $48 million contract he signed as the 11th overall pick out of Vanderbilt in the 2006 draft. He's 17-20 as Broncos starter, although that's misleading because of Denver's dismal defenses. He's 13-1 in games in which Denver held its opponents under 21 points.

McDaniels is scheduled to address the matter with reporters Tuesday.

Apparently teams that were interested are pissed about Cutler's antics so far, and the list is getting shorter on who might actually want the disgruntled QB. The Jets, Bears and 49ers are still considered to be interested.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Other NFL news:

-Reports are suggesting that the Patriots are close to signing DE Jason Taylor, and are also working on a deal before the draft for DE Julius Peppers.

-The Jacksonville Jaguars and San Francisco 49ers are redesigning their uniforms, but not their logos. (Expect a more white and red dominant 49ers uniform)

-Chiefs TE Tony Gonzalez has again asked to be dealt even with the addition of QB Matt Cassel. The list of teams interested however is short.

-The Philadelphia Eagles have inquired about Cardinals WR Anquan Boldin. Cardinals are demanding one of the Eagles 1st round picks, the 21st and 28th picks are available.

-Unsure if WR Plaxico Burress will play this upcoming season, and in dire need of a number one receiver, the Giants have inquired about Browns WR Braylon Edwards.

The “For Sale” sign has been planted in the front yard, and the Broncos will soon be showing potential buyers the partially-finished basement.

According to Charles Robinson and Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports, at least six teams are interested in Cutler.

The Jets, Buccaneers, Bears, Lions, 49ers, and Browns already have been identified. Per Robinson and Cole, the Jaguars have shown interest as well.

As we’ve been saying over and over until people tell us to shut up, any team contemplating using a first-round pick on a quarterback should be interested in Cutler, because unlike an unproven rookie first-rounder Cutler has shown that he can perform at the NFL level.

Meanwhile, chatter persists in league circles regarding the Redskins. We heard several weeks ago that the ‘Skins are indeed interested. As one league source reiterated moments ago, the pursuit of Cutler in 2009 could be driven by the intended pursuit of the man who drafted him in 2010 — former Broncos coach Mike Shanahan.

I think Cutler is worth a 1st round pick. Maybe a 1st, and a 4th or 5th, but not two 1st rounders. The Broncos would be giving up a proven starting QB for an unknown 1st round pick. They better be damn sure of the QB that they are going to replace him with, or they would be foolish to trade him.

We’ve been hearing for weeks that the Washington Redskins are interested in Broncos quarterback Jay Cutler.

And now they’re acting on it.

According to Jason LaCanfora of the Washington Post, the Redskins are “actively pursuing a trade” for Cutler.

The Redskins declined comment, which suggests to us that it’s legit.

If they weren’t chasing Cutler, they’d say so. Just like they said so when they didn’t want T.O. And just like they said so when they denied a report of a three-team deal that would have brought Cutler to the Redskins. And just like they did earlier today, when they got out the word that rumor/report of a fairly recent meeting between owner Daniel Snyder and former Broncos coach Mike Shanahan is false.

Looks like I nailed it....

Amid reports that the Washington Redskins are actively pursuing a trade for Broncos quarterback Jay Cutler, we’ve caught wind of rumors that the Redskins are trying to trade current starter Jason Campbell.

We need to emphasize that this is a rumor, and we’re currently trying to nail down whether or not it’s an accurate rumor.

Campbell is under contract through 2009. Talk of signing him to a new contract subsided significantly after his strong start to the 2008 season faded into something less than that

One thing that hasn't been brought up is some teams don't want to pay big $$ for a top 10 1st round pick. 2 first round picks seam steep, but there is still a bit of a unkown there, especially if you have a crappy GM and scouts.

I would rather of had the 49ers get in on the Cassel deal.

Cutler seems like a big whiner.

Cutler going to Bears
By John Clayton
ESPN.com

The Chicago Bears pulled the big upset Thursday afternoon by acquiring Denver Broncos quarterback Jay Cutler, a source told ESPN.com.

The Broncos confirmed the move.

To acquire Cutler, the Bears had to give up quarterback Kyle Orton and first-round picks in 2009 and 2010, a source said.

To complete the trade, the Broncos had to give back a third-round pick in 2009.

The Bears beat out the Redskins, Buccaneers, Lions, Titans and other teams to get land the 25-year-old Pro Bowl quarterback.

The Broncos had been asking for at least two first-round choices.

Cutler asked to be traded when he found out first-year coach Josh McDaniels tried to acquire Matt Cassel in a trade with the Patriots.

Cutler had not returned phone calls from the Broncos, according to the team, and had been staying away from the offseason program.

Chicago has acquired Cutler, we're all aware of his recent antics.

The Vikings still do not trust Jackson, and guaranteed Rosenfels will be the starter at some point this year.

All the pressure was on Rodgers after the Favre era ended, he started well (5-1 I believe) however the pressure got to him and we all know how that turned out.

The Lions are a mess, Culpepper may have been the answer 4 years ago, Orlovsky's gone, will they draft Stafford?

Interesting QB situations indeed.

I think you aren't giving Rodgers enough credit. He was put in a impossible situation. Played pretty well for the most part (28tds 13ints 93 QB rating). His team didn't exactly help him out with the choke job down the stretch. I think he will come out as the best QB from that division.
