My personal fave band of the 60s. Eric Burdon is one of the top uppermost singers ever.

Anyone care to comment on the Animals or are they just not gay enough to pick on?

LoungeMachine

God, you're boring....

You start this lame thread, and then cry because no one wants to comment on Eric or The Animals? Why should they? You brought nothing other than YouTubes anyone could link/view themselves.

You didnt bother with any insight, or reasons why you think so highly of them. You just simply posted they're another one your "faves"

And you're
never to gay to pick on, fanboi.

You've become a redundant, boring tool.

:gulp:

Does it bother you that no one cared about your lame thread topic?

Do you crave the attention, both positive and negative that much?

This is more of a Journal post. :)The Army has a very nice journal set, please come join in the journaling.
P.s.
It is assumptive of you to think simply because it is your favorite, it is of interest. :smilieci:

The commentary in this thread is not all that surprising, yet what I do find astounding are the tunes left out. The Animals had a fairly clunky rhythm section at times, and the guitarist was often overwhelmed by the organ. Yet the grit of some of these tunes (amazingly, many were top 40 hits) still shines through, despite the at times cruddy tv sound.

Here are a pair of memorable Animals covers. The first is a medley by David Johansen (New York Dolls) from his Live It Up concert recording. Yeah, the image is fairly crummy.

Grand Funk usually flattened audiences with this version of "Inside Looking Out", most memorably performed with a nearly 14 minute version on the 1970 Live Album. This clip is from 1972, when Craig Frost joined the group on keyboards.

I don't get it either. As I mentioned in the George Michael thread (which sadly, was NOT a tribute to a treasured syndicated sports tv show http://www.easyfreesmileys.com/smileys/free-mad-smileys-264.gif (http://www.easyfreesmileys.com/Free-Adult-Smileys/)), to start a tribute thread it's a good idea to include some insight into the subject. For instance, when creating such a thread, before posting an image or clip, it's a general rule to include a little preamble detailing some personal experiences with the subject, be they fond rememberance or bitter memory. This establishes a plain for conversation, grist for the mill, if you will. By creating fodder for conversation, you establish interest in the subject.

To merely throw a video at the screen devoid of context rarely makes any sense. The only two reasons for doing so would be to use the clip as a punchline, or to merely provoke a reaction.

Come to think of it, that last bit is a good point to end on. ;)

We're all supposed to reinforce his taste in music.

They were his 60's "fave", therefore we should all post accolades in here to make him feel like a posting genius.

Otherwise, we're just stupid sheep.

:gulp:

His self esteem issues shouldn't mean thread-spam for the rest of us.

Umm... seeing as this thread was derailed, is there a point? My comment was on how people could trash the GM thread when they didn't like the artist, but if the artist doesn't bother them they leave it alone. The logic is interesting.
