What's really odd about this idea is that there appears to be little scientific study given to why the bugs are affected by the music. Could it be the frequency, or even simple volume that is causing the reaction? Would white noise or static have the same effect?
It isn't all that difficult of an experiment to set up and perform. Get a sealed glass aquarium, throw in a handful of the roaches and project various sounds at them through a speaker. Then sit back and witness which sounds sonically aggitate the critters, or better yet make them go poof.
Otherwise, the concept seems pretty much like getting rid of a pesky fly by using a shotgun.
