Seems to be more a knockoff than a piracy...

Knockoffs don't all just come from Chinese companies. What about H&M and Forever 21? How come we don't hear as much objection (if any) against the designer knockoffs sold in those stores? Sounds like a biased media.

I agree with you, binky..... however.

I think the main reason you see alot of attention focused on China these days, is because the US is increasingly becoming a wholly-owned subsidiary of CHINA,INC.

China is also becoming the LEADER on how true Capitalism should work, which is ironic enough in itself.

China, and its military, will soon become our largest "threat" to our former SUPERPOWER status we used to strut around with.

China = The world's biggest swinging dick.

Not to mention the most numerous. Us fish-eyes are the minority here, and sometimes we tend to forget that.

Yup. I spent part of my childhood in Hong Kong and went into the PRC in 1980 right after it had opened up to foreigners. Even in those days I could see the Chinese Govt. had made the goal to be a world economic player. My dad in 1980 said, these people will be our competition in 30 years.

It's not so much the Chinese as the American industry and government sold us out. The Chinese will figure out how to make it and then make it for themselves. I never bought we were going to sell them our stuff like they were yacking about in business school 20 years ago. I saw this all coming down the pike a long time ago. China will be the new world economic power if UFO's, Jesus, or 2012 doesn't doom the world to destruction.

I had to buy some machine tools. The US is out of the ball game. German stuff is expensive. So I did some research and bought high grade Chinese. I swear it's a copy of the stuff we made here in the US years ago. Maybe made on the same machinery but the quality for the price was a bargain. I would like to buy US MADE but we've sold it off and out. Shame.

The only way you can compete with the Chinese is on quality. If you try to compete on numbers and price they will hand your dick to you. All China wants from the rest of the world is technology. They have been after it hard and heavy. Go to MIT or Cal Tech and see how many students there are Chinese. Americans have dumbed themselves down on a mass scale.

About This I Believe
This I Believe, Inc., was founded in 2004 as a non-profit organization. Its mission is “to contribute to the improvement of society by enabling people to think about, express, and share their deepest beliefs.” The main way the organization realizes this mission is via an international multi-media project that engages youth and adults from all walks of life in writing, sharing, and discussing brief essays about the core values that guide their daily lives.
This I Believe is based on a 1950s radio program of the same name, hosted by acclaimed journalist Edward R. Murrow. Each day, Americans gathered by their radios to hear compelling essays from the likes of Eleanor Roosevelt, Jackie Robinson, Helen Keller, and Harry Truman as well as corporate leaders, cab drivers, scientists, and secretaries—anyone able to distill into a few minutes the guiding principles by which they lived. These essayists’ words brought comfort and inspiration to a country worried about the Cold War, McCarthyism, and racial division. (These essays are featured in weekly broadcasts on Bob Edwards' satellite and public radio shows.)

In reviving This I Believe, executive producer Dan Gediman says, “The goal is not to persuade Americans to agree on the same beliefs. Rather, the hope is to encourage people to begin the much more difficult task of developing respect for beliefs different from their own.”

Selected contemporary This I Believe essays were featured on regular broadcasts on National Public Radio (NPR) in the United States from 2005 – 2009. The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) aired essays from Canadians in 2007. In 2005 and 2006, USA Weekend invited its readers to participate in our project and published selected essays from their readers. And numerous local public radio stations, newspapers and magazines have featured essays from citizens in their communities.

How is Obama killing scumbags in Pakistan "soft"? Bush didn't do it!!

When I see our troops actually let loose and kill the enemy in Pakistan then I will acknowledge it...until then, it's just expensive Obama bullshit...

And we shouldn't even put troops on the ground in Pakistan. Put the intelligence on the ground, find the cells, tell the Pakistanis to do something about it, and if they don't, take it out by air along with whatever residual damage that may occur...

I'm tired of putting our ground troops against an enemy that wears no uniform and is difficult to identify and the results are at the mercy of slanted media. It will not work...

From what I have seen, the 60's wasn't a very fun time to go through, pretty scary if you ask me.

1968 was possibly the worst year in american history, so I agree, but the issues were far more legitimate than gay marriage...

Not that we don't have legitimate issues today. Our first and second amendment rights are under direct attact today and that is pretty scary if you ask me, but Obama is busy telling us how swine flu is gonna get us...

The wool is seriously being pulled over our eyes...

Just wait 'till the internet as we currently know it is shut down for our protection.

Mike Malloy, a liberal radio personality. That pic looks kinda creepy though. Kinda like a hitchhiker you see in the desert 25 miles outside of Yuma at 2 am, all while there's an ongoing Amber Alert for a missing 7 year old girl in the area.

Alright... enough with the Malloy bashing. It's time for some truth seeking up in here.....

I think if Ed Murrow were still with us, he'd be talking about the same things.

Better the condensing of the legal papers required for proper care and guardianship of CHOSEN family members, than the issues of traveling through Mississippi in the pre-90's
I already stated my opinion on gay marriage. Marriage is just a way to protect chosen family... But the state cannot force a church to give marriage papers. There are a lot of marriages of convince out there, it is not just about who's sexing who.

But health care is a very very important issue. I am glad the swine flu was contained so well and was not as fears as first reported out of Mexico.

Sure beats the scary imagined superpower of Evil. That was kinda stupid.

As for the Internets..... well, that is pretty limited now. We (you and I) just happen to have easy high-speed access. Yea, A lot of people have it, but many more do not and high-speed access is limited either by funds or location. Elvis, you do know they STILL make TVs for those that do not stream, seriously. But, if I lived in an area that did not have high-speed, the TV would be my source.

P.s. yes, anytime a crowd gathers (Internet) there needs to be some sort of public safety measures. Imagine if I was naughty, and set up a site like Second Life or ran yahoo for my naughtiness. It is not that hard to smoke and mirrors a crowd. Any time you think maybe security is not a good idea and corruption is not a problem. Close your eyes and think "What if Blaze was naughty in this environment?"

TV would be your source for what ??

The only "public safety" measures on the net are against child porn and stalking, and maybe the sale of drugs and sex, but so far, information is mostly uncensored. TV is 1000% censored and useless. TV is good for watching Andy Griffith and maybe C-Span, that's about it...

You can be naughty in this environment, nobody will give a shit. Until it gets to the point that that information is used against you when applying for a job, and those days are coming...

I would call it a "media-hyped" ratings-grab, myself.

If there's anything a news director knows, it's FEAR SELLS.

Yeah, umm....

I gonna go with 1861.

Compare the number of major events of 1861 with 1968...

I'm sorry, but the country literally splitting apart and going to war against itself trumps everything that happened in 1968. In my opinion.

As would the FEAR,Inc. team of Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld/Perle/Wolfowitz/Ashcroft/Rice/Powell

:gulp:

But seems to me anyway, that Obama is anything, has gone out of his way to quell "fear".

He's tamped down fear over the economy, swine flu, and BushCO prosecutions for war crimes.

I disagree with you concerning information, I feel at a certain level information(documentation) needs to be verified, sites and people need to be accountable.

Are you really comfortable with me have to answering to no one? If I have a site of a certain caliber?

ELVIS
05-10-2009, 06:33 AM
I wouldn't go to your naughty site. If somebody else would, that's on them, but the general public as a whole is not that stupid and is capable of informing themselves of what is good or bad, real or not, bull or shit...

ELVIS

We should make a bet on this.
Robert Goren is a completely set RPG character, Let us see who gets 2 months with a person~ with a crowd of 50, with a crowd of 100 etc...

Why would you want Obama to kill anyone in Pakistan when you think 9/11 was in inside job perpetrated by Bush?

Incidentally, Obama has continued the previous policies and is doing everything you said...

BTW, he also sent Navy SEALs to fucking kill three pirates which hardly fits your "liberal-pussy" stereotype...

I was having a conversation with a woman who was raised on mainland China, and she that she was wearing midriff-bearing tops when she was a teenager. Apparently, the culture hasn't been all that conservative in the last 30 years.

Okay, let me use Japan as an example. Regardless of how they are allowed to dress, it's a man's world, you know what I mean?
