Great stuff. I've seen some various clips throughout the years. I'm certain the entire show is out there.

My friend Otis just played there with Billy Bragg a few months ago. He posted pics and said it was one of those venues that he was kind of awe-struck by.

The quality of the video is surprising in that it's not as bad as to what I was expecting apart from one camera angle and that Townshend dressed like a milk truck delivery man. To see The Who play live in the early 70's must have been mesmerizing and this probably the closet most of us will come to experiencing that. Good find.

I wonder why that footage was shot? It is definitely is pro-shot for some test purpose...

It's already the Most Unholiest (official) live album ever released. I'd trade Stalin's soul for a DVD of the show.

The reason The Who made Live At Leeds was fairly simple: They did not feel like reviewing the mountain of live tapes they'd recorded on their previous tour, so they simply recorded at Leeds University instead. (A second show was recorded the next night at another venue, yet the performance was incomplete.) It's unclear if the few fragments of film from the Leeds show were shot by the University's staff or by The Who themselves. The band was experimenting with multi-media ideas at this time, so it is entirely possible that this was a run-through for a future idea, such as the Lifehouse project.

I spent a lot of time over the summer of 2006 learning the drum parts and I've them all down pretty well. That rendition of "Amazing Journey" into "Sparks" is mind-blowing. I also LOVE the 15 minute "My Generation."

The expanded/remastered version of Live at Leeds is mindblowing. There's something about the way live albums were recorded back in the 60's & 70's that hasn't existed in a long time. They actually sound like you're in the audience .
                          Gotta love old recording techniques...

                            It's called tape!

But the guitar tone on this and Keith Moon never sounded better...
