Howdy,

I haven't been in these parts for a LONG TIME!!
Things have really changed since my last visit.

I have a quick question...
Cato's Napalm Up Your Ass DVD has been one of my favorite fan made DVDs for the last four years. I was wondering if there were any plans to reissue this classic compilation on a Dual Layer DVD-R with a higher video bit rate and PCM audio? The original Napalm Up Your Ass release from 2005 was pretty nice, however an upgrade featuring lossless audio would most definitely be appreciated.

yeah, upgrade is a good idea. my DVD authoring skill was not good at that time and I actually made an error on that one....did you notice there are some milli-second drop outs on audio track?

I'm not planning to re-make it at present because I'm busy to play in the arcade:cato2: but if I do it, upgrade version will be a 2 DVD set with PCM audio(VH part and DLR solo part).

Thanks for the swift reply!

Splitting the compilation onto 2 DVDs with PCM is a great idea!
Not everyone out there has access to Dual Layer DVD-Rs.

I have over a thousand fan made/bootleg concert DVD-Rs, and I always take time to check out 'Napalm' every few weeks. I have given away countless copies of 'Napalm' to friends over the years and they have all tremendously enjoyed it!

okay, i had to Google it since you were not nice enough to provide a link, but that's okay. everyone says you're disabled and i believe them. i will give you a teeny bit of credit, that looks like a useful piece of software.

however...

NOWHERE does it say it "improves" a video file. converting to WMV or AVI or whatever isn't improving it. i don't even have to install it to know that it won't make Flash video DVD quality. so on that you fail.

i find it rather funny that lounge and kwame are posting videos from may 31, 2008, while the one i posted was from december 2, 2009.
way to stay up to date.

funny thing is, as i was walking off stage..........the audience was still screaming and chanting for "one more song".

as for the may 31, 2008 footage, that was at angels roadhouse in yucaipa, ca.
have any of you ever played there?

if you have, getting decent advertising and getting anyone to bother going to yucaipa is near impossible.
the so cal inland empire is not exactly a metal friendly enviornment.

it's all teeny bopper bubble gum pop and rap crap every fucking where you turn.

it is also the buckle of so cal's own bible belt.

it is the worst place to be a metalhead and it is a horrible place to be a metal musician.

the inland empire is a miserable place to even try finding a place to play without having to put out hundreds of dollars to promoters and booking agent or venue owners. the reason is they are a bunch of chickenshit cocksuckers.
they make the bands pay them for the priveledge of having a place to play.

then after the security deposits, there are the tickets.
you have to buy them from the venue or the promoters.

then you must try and sell them, if you can.

all the bands in the inland empire have to deal with this bullshit.

all this, and there is no garauntee that anyone, if at all will show up.

getting 10 or 20 people to show up under such circumstances,
is quite a major accomplishment.
most times, you are just playing for the other bands and their crew, and the venue employees.

and it is not just me, everyone has the same problem.

then on top of all this, i still have to play.

and the audiences out here are the most ungrateful, cynical, stuck up sack of steaming assholes there ever was.

if you wanna find out what you and your band are made of, come on out here and try your luck.

don't say i didn't warn you.

and i did not get it out of a fucking pawn shop.

we headlined not only the opium den, but we also headlined at the whiskey.
both were saturday night gigs.

i was 20 years old at the time.

Yeah, the band I was in before this one with Fan Halen's drummer (which they decided to call "Smokin' J" - originally much to my chagrin, but my objections were overruled...ha!) was much heavier overall, and we did more VH like "Atomic Punk" and "Romeo Delight" - Larry would (and probably still DOES) even bring out his GONG for the full effect! That dude ain't fuckin' around! We did "I don't know" and some other cool Ozzy tunes, AIC, "War Pigs" by Sabbath...crowds loved it. WISH I had some videos of that band now. Problem with artists, is they HAVE to show you EVERYTHING they know, again & again.

That's what being a covers band is all about - having fun, whilst occasionally bringing out the wankery, but never overdoing it.

These shows in the cities listed have taken place between
1997-2009.

I have played concerts in 5 countries on 2 different continents.
Now, i do believe that qualifies as a world tour.

All of which i managed to finance on my own.
That is a whole lot more than most bands have done.

actually, hale, it was me, my manager, and the recording engineer that multi tracked a lot of things at the end of "alcohol(the world drinking tour)" . we wanted to give it a real good dive bar kinda feel. we wanted the end of the song to have the enviornmental ambiance of what it is like at some of the shows i have done over the years.

same with the beginning of "i am satan".

the falsetto voices are that of my manager and the recording engineer.
it was completely improvised on the spot.

however, the barking dog and the accappella singing at the beginning of
"feel my evil" are both me.

all the background vocals, where the exist, are myself, my manager,
and the recording enginer.

so, nice try, jhale, but on this one YOU FAIL!!!

and i promise you, there are 3 people singing.
me, my manager matt, and the engineer, andy.

now, getting a gig on the big stage in that place, considering they put on national and international acts,
is not easy.

it is quite an accomplishment.
the night i played there, i was the opening act.
not many people are usually present in that place when the opening band is on stage.

i have seen it many times.
