Actually it was EXTREME, I found this on youtube.
Apparently they closed out the house of blues with Mean Street a couple nights ago.
I find it kinda strange that Gary would still play older DLR material over his original material with Van Danniels III. Yes, the performance is terrible... and I've been talking trash about Cherone for over a decade after joining Van Halen... But I'm still shocked he would not only play a Roth era song at an EXTREME show... but close it out nontheless.

So, here it is... with no further ado...

QUEEN STREET LOL

Here's a guy that has beaten down by both The Sam and Dave fanbases...

And he's still doing Mean Street live...

Unbelievable... I take back every bad thing I've said about him...

Oh yeah... Snoop Doggy Dogg wants his fucking hat back.... lol

I think he was going for the "stick head behind ass... while he grabs it" technique....

Before Nuno stopped him @ 7: 08

I liked the album Pornograffiti. And those bastards make me more & more ashamed of that $15 I spent every time I see them.

I'm just completely puzzled by how someone who has so much experience now of fronting rock bands continues to look so awkward and inappropriate on stage.

I think it's quite a bit better than the VHIII debacle version...

Dressing up like that never stopped you from liking rock bands before

Predictable.

Times change plus I don't remember any Van Halen song that involved Roth and Eddie gazing deeply into each others eyes professing their love over an acoustic guitar.

A predictable response to your predictable comment......no Dave just wrote a soft, warm, fuzzy, belly rubbing, nostalgic waxing, heart pouring, love professing tune about VH in 1988 called Damn Good.

Dave also wrote lyrics like "Eddie, Eddie boy for crying out loud you've got all the right moves you make me rub my cock out...nightly....that's alright with me"

It's ok...I know your hypocrisy knows no bounds

If Ed and Dave could perform that well on their respective instruments...it might start to feel like 1982 again

You know I've often thought the exact same thing about Dave since 1994

Maybe Cherone will sign up and start posting in this thread? Hey, we got members of the Atomic Punks and Fan Halen posting here, why not the former singer of the VH tribute band Van Danniels?

He might gay you to death.

At the risk of agreeing with Dave hAter Fan, That was a ripping version. More than credible... And yes, Gary is absurd in his dress and antics but what the fuck? the dude is gay in real life after all.
I couldn't do a better version of that tune and I'm thinking that the vast majority of the arm chair rock stars on this board couldn't either. Extreme is ok in my book.

you stand correct...and if you just LISTEN to it, they do him justice...there is even the eruption-reference in the closing solo from nuno...steve vai did the same in his solo during the EEAS-Tour 1986...

I hate More Than Words, am so-so on Hole Hearted and fucking LOVE Play With Me...

But that version was pretty cool.

For all the shit you get, Gary, God bless ya, man...sexual antics aside, you were put in a fucking IMPOSSIBLE position; I hate Ed and Al for it FAR more than I'll ever hate you.

I gotta say that version is WAY better than the VHIII crap!

Aside from Ga y's jail pants, he does pretty good. Almost like he was trying to ruin Van Halen at the time, because his vocals and attitude are much better here, and Nuno is pretty damn good...

The vocals do seem a lot better here than '98. Nuno is tearing it up. I like Nuno's playing in general, just can't get past Gary.
